From fruit picking to defoliation, the nutrients produced by leaves during this period are no longer used for fruit consumption, but for further differentiation and enrichment of flower buds, thickening of branches, tissue maturity and accumulation of main nutrients. Therefore, good management in this period can not only increase tree nutrition, improve overwintering ability and resistance to adverse environmental conditions, but also play a decisive role in flowering, fruit setting and growth in the coming year.

First, adjust the number of branches of the tree. After cherry harvest, those who have grown dense branches, thin and weak branches, whiplash branches and disease and insect branches should be thinned or cut short, in order to open the light path, enrich the branches, reduce unnecessary consumption, and be conducive to flower bud differentiation and branch maturity.

Second, prevention and control of diseases and insect pests. Peach leafhopper, also known as floating and sunken seed, is the main disease in the late growth stage of cherry. From July to September, the damage is the most serious. The damaged peach leaves appear yellow and white spots, and when serious, the whole leaves wither and yellow and fall off early, resulting in tree weakness, affecting the formation of flowers, and reducing the annual yield in the coming year. The precaution is to spray 200 times Bordeaux or 1000-1500 times of dimethoate immediately after fruit picking.

Third, apply fertilizer scientifically. From the end of May to the beginning of June, plant application of organic fertilizer 50-1000 kg, such as mixed with 1 kg of calcium superphosphate per plant, the effect is better. Fertilization method, you can use radial and ring alternately, located directly below the periphery of the crown, fertilizer ditch should be shallow inside and deep outside, so as not to break too many roots, and then watered once.

Fourth, foliar spraying fertilizer. After fruit picking, 0.5% rain 1% urea solution is sprayed every 10-15 days, and 0.5% calcium superphosphate solution is sprayed at the same time to improve the photosynthetic capacity of leaves and increase the nutrition of branches.
