Rose (scientific name: Rosa rugosa), originating in China. Belongs to Rosaceae, Rosaceae deciduous shrubs, branches multi-needle, odd-pinnate compound leaves, leaflets 5-9, oval, with edge thorns. Petals Obovate, double to semidouble, purplish red, white, fruiting August-September, oblate. Roses are native to China. When roses are used as crops, their flowers are mainly used in food and extract essential rose oil, and rose oil is used in cosmetics, food, fine chemicals and other industries. In daily life, a series of cultivated varieties of the genus Rosa (rose) with showy flowers are collectively referred to as roses. In European languages, rose, rose and rose all use the same word, such as rose in English and Die Rose in German. The rose is the national flower of England. The most common hybrid rose in the world today (Rosa hybrida, also known as modern rose or modern rose) is mainly the finished product of many rose species and breeding exchanges over the centuries. In particular, the long flowering period derived from the relatives of the rose, the four seasons bloom, the branches mainly grow upward and the inflorescences protrude and open at the top of the plant.

Rose like sunshine, more cold-resistant, drought-resistant, like ventilation and cool climate, suitable growth temperature is 15-25 degrees. Rose has strong adaptability and lax requirements on soil. It grows well and blossoms more in fertile neutral or slightly acidic light loam. Before planting, it is necessary to apply rotten organic fertilizer as basic fertilizer, and then apply fertilizer four times in the following year, that is, once from February to March, once before flowering, once after flowering, to enhance plant growth, and to apply overwintering fertilizer once when leaves fall before winter, which is beneficial to raising ground temperature and making the plant winter safely. For potted roses, it is appropriate to mature liquid fertilizer every 10 days.

Roses are resistant to drought and waterlogging, such as for a long time. The lower leaves of the plant will fall off, and even cause plant death. Roses planted in the ground usually do not need to be watered, but can be properly watered in early spring and dry season. Potted roses can be watered every 2-3 days and should be watered every day in hot summer.

Rose is not only a beautiful flower, but also an economic plant with high value. Its flowers can not only be used as raw materials for various preserves, but also extract essence and rose oil. The value of rose oil is also quite high in the international market. Roses should pick flowers in time when they bloom. If they do not pick flowers, they will only bloom once a year. The more times they pick flowers, the more times they will bloom. Generally, when picking flowers at dawn every day, it is better to pick those whose buds have just opened a ring; if the full flowering heart is yellow, it can still be picked; if the full flowering heart turns red, the quality is poor.

Roses generally bloom on the branches of the year, and regular pruning can make the plant grow vigorously, bloom luxuriantly, have a beautiful tree shape, and prolong the flowering life. Pruning can be done before flowering or during dormancy.

Rose rust is the main disease of roses, which is common in southwest China, and the incidence is more serious in warm seasons and foggy winter areas. According to the author's investigation for many years, the incidence rate is as high as 80% in some areas of our province. White flowers and purple roses were infected, causing leaves to fall off, affecting growth and flowering, and also harming many plants of the genus Rosa. The disease infected leaves, petioles, calyx and tender stems, and first appeared small yellow spots on the front. Or orange polyhedral spots, many apricot powdery substances appeared on the reverse side of the leaves in June and July, and the disease spots were yellow warts on the petioles and twigs. This is its "summer spore", spread by wind and rain. The pathogens are subphylum basidiomycetes, Puccinia, and Rose polyspore rust. The pathogens overwintered on the disease part and remnant leaves with winter spores.

Prevention and cure method

1. Artificial control, timely removal of diseased buds, diseased leaves and concentrated burning, in order to reduce the spread of pathogens.

two。 Strengthen cultivation management, increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to enhance resistance, pay attention to ventilation, light transmission and drainage, in order to reduce the humidity of the surrounding environment and reduce the disease conditions.

3. Chemical control: spray 1 ∶ 1 ∶ 150 × 200 Bordeaux solution and Baume 0.3 degree stone sulfur mixture every two weeks from May to August. The following pesticides can also be used for spraying: 97% diuron sodium 250g 300x solution (50kg 100g soap powder per 100jin), 20% triadimefon (triadimefon) wettable powder 2000 times, 30% green Debao 30000g 400 times, 10% high water dispersible granules 30005000x, 25% Foxing EC 50008000x, 30% Teflin wettable powder 30005000x, etc.
