Cordyceps sinensis, also known as Cordyceps sinensis, is a kind of valuable nourishing medicine commonly used by the people in our country. Its nutritional composition is higher than that of ginseng, and it can be used as medicine or edible. It is an excellent delicacy with high nutritional value. Cordyceps sinensis can enhance immunity, nourish lung and kidney, and has obvious inhibitory effect on lung cancer, liver cancer and so on. It is effective in clinical treatment of lung deficiency, chronic cough, asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis hemoptysis, night sweats, kidney deficiency, waist and knee pain, impotence, spermatorrhea, neurasthenia and erythrocytopenia after chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Cordyceps sinensis is a traditional Chinese medicine for both medicine and food. in recent years, the demand for Cordyceps sinensis is growing rapidly, and the price is rising continuously. More and more medicine farmers pay attention to its cultivation. The efficient mulching planting method is introduced as follows.

According to the characteristics of strong root growth, many fibrous roots and luxuriant stems and leaves, the covering method of Cordyceps sinensis makes Cordyceps sinensis grow underground for 2/3 of the time, grow roots on the ground for 1/3 of the time, grow stems and leaves under strong sunlight, and plant short-term vegetables on the soil covered by Cordyceps sinensis. Growing short-term vegetables not only does not affect the growth of Cordyceps sinensis, but also promotes the growth of Cordyceps sinensis, because when applying sufficient fertilizer and water to the upper vegetables, Cordyceps sinensis absorbs the same amount of Cordyceps sinensis underneath, so it can make the root length of Cordyceps sinensis thicker and more.

Planting Cordyceps sinensis is cultivated in sandy loam with loose fertilizer, convenient drainage and irrigation, leeward and sunny soil or soil rich in organic matter. Before and after the Beginning of Summer, after deeply ploughing and loosening the soil, the border was widened by 1.5m~1.6m, the height of the border was 30cm, the width of the ditch bottom was 20cm, and the miscellaneous fertilizer 3000kg~4000kg of farm soil was applied as base fertilizer per mu. According to the row spacing of 14 × 20cm, the seed roots of Cordyceps sinensis were put into the ditch, and then the soil was covered. Then grow short-term vegetables on the covered soil, usually half a month or January, because short-term vegetables need enough fertilizer and water. About a month later, Cordyceps sinensis gradually grows and 3cm should no longer grow vegetables. At this time, it is the midsummer season, when Cordyceps sinensis grows stems, leaves and roots, and its growth period is about four months.

Between the seasons of Cold Dew and Frosts Descent, cut off the stem of Cordyceps sinensis and dry it for medicinal and edible use. Then cover the cut Cordyceps sinensis with about 3cm~5cm of soil, and then plant short-term vegetables on the covered soil. Around February of the following year, Cordyceps sinensis sprouted again and grew out of the ground. At this time, use a shovel or hoe to shovel the new buds of Cordyceps sinensis from the old root of Cordyceps sinensis, about 10cm, to sell at a high price. The soil cover is still restored after the shovel, and short-term vegetables are planted on the soil after the cover is reduced.

Cordyceps sinensis is planted only once a year by mulching method, which not only improves the utilization rate of land, but also improves the quality and yield of Cordyceps sinensis, and finally improves the economic benefit, which is worth popularizing.
