Grub is an important underground pest. The head is big, brown, yellow and a few black, so farmers call it a big head worm. When it moves, it will be rolled into a "C" shape, commonly known as the white silkworm. It lives exclusively in the soil and harms the underground parts of plants. Grubs are the larvae of beetles, which mainly occur in North China black beetles and copper beetles, so grubs are a mixed population. Beetles are unearthed from June to August every year to lay eggs, because most grubs survive more years, so they accumulate for many years, and there is a damage peak in autumn. In the face of serious insect pests, comprehensive measures should be taken to control grubs:

1. Set up insecticidal lights in the centralized planting area, turn on the lights at night from June to August, trap and kill beetles and reduce the number of eggs laid.

2. Scallions turn deep into the ground after harvest and mechanically kill part of the grubs.

3. Medication: 48% Lesbon EC 500 ml per mu, or phoxim. Due to the long residual time of 48% Lesbon in the soil, it has a good control effect on underground pests. Can be mixed with medicine soil sprinkled along the ridge, and then watered, can also be irrigated into the soil with water.
