First, the choice of mulberry garden.

1. The land of mulberry garden should be far away from the field, mainly to prevent the field from being polluted by pesticides when controlling pests.

2. Stay away from the factory to prevent the pollution of mulberry leaves after the discharge of factory waste gas, soot and sewage, thus affecting the safety of silkworm farming.

3. The soil is fertile, the soil layer is deep, and it is suitable for drainage and energy irrigation.

II. Selection of mulberry varieties

At present, the main mulberry varieties suitable for our city are Nongsang 12 and 14. Conditional farmers can try out new varieties of Toyota No. 2 and No. 5, and gradually expand their varieties on the basis of success.

Third, the following work should be done when planting mulberry trees

All the work of mulberry planting must focus on improving the survival rate and conducive to the growth of young mulberry.

1. Before planting, the land should be leveled and thoroughly turned over.

2. Open the planting ditch, the depth of the ditch should be more than 50 cm, and the width should be 30 cm.

3. Apply sufficient base fertilizer. The base fertilizer should be put after the ditch is opened, and 5000 kg of organic fertilizer (rotten fertilizer such as pig, cow, sheep, chicken, etc.) should be put per mu. In order to prevent the base fertilizer from heating and burning mulberry root during fermentation, fill a layer of topsoil above the base fertilizer to prevent direct contact between mulberry root and fertilizer.

4. Water and fertilizer should be applied to the roots. Deep ditch shallow species, planting mulberry should be shallow, with mulberry seedling grafting scar (rhizome green-yellow junction) buried 5-6 cm is appropriate. If the plant is too shallow, the ground exposed is easy to be withered, affecting the survival rate. It's too deep. The poor ventilation of the land, slow growth of new roots, too much underground water and difficult absorption of nutrients affect the growth of young mulberry. Ditch filling with topsoil is better, after filling with water fertilizer to water the root, and then add soil, straighten mulberry seedlings, firm the rhizosphere, and make the soil slightly into a steamed bread shape, so as to prevent the soil layer from sinking to make the mulberry root empty or stagnant water to rot the root and reduce the survival rate.

5. When planting mulberry, large and small seedlings should be planted separately, and diseased seedlings should be removed to ensure the normal growth of mulberry trees.

Fourth, the management after planting.

After mulberry seedlings are planted, ditches are made immediately, with a height of about 15-20 cm and a width of about 30-40 cm. A deep ditch is opened around the mulberry field, and the border ditches are connected to each other to facilitate drainage and irrigation, and then cut off the seedling tip according to the height of the cultivated mulberry tree. If it is dry for a long time after planting, it should be watered or properly irrigated at the root of the seedling. In order to prevent the seedlings from drying up and affecting their survival, it is found that individual mulberry seedlings die after planting, and they should be replanted immediately so that there is no lack of mulberry trees in the mulberry garden.
