Grapefruit is widely cultivated and can be planted in many parts of the country. There are many varieties of grapefruit, generally there are red meat and white meat, both of which have very good edible value, especially for reducing fire, let's take a look at how to grow grapefruit!

Planting method of pomelo

1. Time. It is generally planted after autumn shoots mature from September to November or before spring shoots sprout from February to March.

2. Density. The density of plant spacing 3m × row spacing 4m was used to plant 55-60 plants per mu.

3. Planting technology. Soil digging planting holes: drawing wire fixed distance, digging planting holes, hole depth and width of each 80cm, and then pressing green manure 50cm deep, backfill soil 40cm high planting. Ridging and planting in the field: 8 meters with trench, ditch width 60-80 60cm, depth 40-30cm, 2 ridges per box, ridge width 1.5 m, ridge center distance 4 m, ridge height 20-30cm. When planting, the root system of the seedling is appropriately trimmed and placed in the center of the planting hole to stretch the root system and straighten it. While filling the soil, the seedling is raised gently and firmly, so that the root system is closely connected with the soil. Pour enough water on the roots, make a 1m plate around the seedlings and cover it with bran shells.

Fertilization methods of pomelo trees

1. Huanyang fertilizer (base fertilizer): the amount of fertilizer applied before and after fruit harvest accounts for half of the total amount of fertilizer applied in the whole year, and a large amount of late-acting fertilizer such as green manure, compost, circle manure and cake fertilizer should be applied, combined with quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer and phosphorus fertilizer.

2. Budding fertilizer (pre-anthesis fertilizer): generally carried out from February to March, this time the fertilizer should be based on available nitrogen fertilizer, mainly human and animal manure, and properly combined with urea.

3. Stable fruit fertilizer: apply quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer half a month before fruit drop in June, apply mature human and animal manure and spray 1% superphosphate leaching solution.

4. Strong fruit fertilizer: applied in the middle and late June, applying available nitrogen fertilizer and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.

Pest control of pomelo

1, mites control methods: 73% propargite EC 2000-4000 times, 50% triazolyclotin 1500-2000 times, 20% triclofenac EC 800-1000 times spray.

2. Scale control methods can continuously spray 1000 times of omethoate EC and 3000 times of fenvalerate EC for 1-2 times during the larval occurrence period.

3. Citrus leaf miner can start spraying 2500-3000 times of 25% deltamethrin or 1000 times of isocarbophos every 5-10 days when most new shoots grow to 0.5-1.0cm.

4. In the peak period of adult Eclosion, the dead bark of the trunk can be scraped off, and the injured area can be coated with 1:1 dimethoate EC plus kerosene. During the peak period of adult emergence, the tree crown can be sprayed with 1000 times of 80% dichlorvos EC or 1000-1500 times of 90% trichlorfon EC.

Pruning techniques of pomelo trees

1. Pruning the result tree. Grapefruit trees generally only draw spring shoots, few in summer and autumn, and have a strong ability to bear fruit in the inner chamber. Therefore, the pruning of the first fruit tree should be light rather than heavy, generally only remove the ungrown branches, disease and insect branches, withered branches, over-dense and weak branches, leave more bore branches, and not cut off the fruiting mother branches. The crown of the adult tree has been formed, and the pruning objects are mainly the lateral branches and all kinds of branches on the backbone branches, in order to adjust the balance of growth and fruit. The principle of pruning is heavy pruning of strong trees, less short pruning, thinning of dense branches, erect branches and lateral branches, and retention of drooping and weak branches in order to blossom and bear fruit. Most of the weak trees bear fruit on the strong branches, so they should remove the weak and stay strong and leave more leafy fruit branches.

2. Pruning aging trees. The best time for regeneration and pruning of senescent trees is between May and June before spring shoot germination or after stopping growth and before summer shoot occurrence. Old trees should be explicitly renewed, and the main branches and secondary main branches should be retained during renewal. All 3-4-year-old lateral branches on the crown should be cut off, and no leaves should be left in the crown to promote the occurrence of strong shoots. After sprouting and sprouting, a new crown can be formed within 1-2 years and the fruit can be restored. For some of the declining branches which still have fruiting ability, the method of rotation can be used to renew part of the branches every year, and the whole tree can be renewed for 2-3 years.

There are two planting times for grapefruit, usually in late autumn or early spring. It is also necessary to do a good job in pest control in the later stage in order to ensure the high yield of grapefruit. Grapefruit is not only of great edible value, but also commonly found in traditional Chinese medicine, which has the magical effect of relieving cough, so planting good grapefruit is a very good choice to generate income.
