Macadamia nuts are also known as macadamia walnuts and Queensland nuts. Macadamia nuts are not only rare but also play an unsurpassed role in nutrition and disease prevention. Macadamia nuts are nutritious and contain 70% Mel 79% oil, especially rich in unsaturated fatty acids, mainly oleic acid and palmitic acid. The ratio of unsaturated fatty acids to saturated fatty acids in kernels of smooth-shelled macadamia nuts is 6.2, crude shell species is 4.8%, protein 9%, and is also rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron and vitamins B1, B2 and eight essential amino acids. Because of its special nutritional value, eating macadamia nuts can prevent atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, tumor, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases. Macadamia nuts were introduced into China in the 1970s, but they are only suitable for planting in areas with special elevations, special climates and special environments, such as Yunnan and Guangxi. Up to now, China has promoted the cultivation of more than 2000 hectares, but macadamia nuts are still in short supply in the international market for a long time and are listed as the most expensive nuts in the world. Our state has developed on a large scale since it was introduced in the early 1980s. Yingjiang County has also won the title of "hometown of Chinese nuts", and the products are in short supply.
From introduction to large-scale development, macadamia nuts in our state have trained a number of leading enterprises and professional growers. Take Yunnan Disi Enterprise Group Nuts Co., Ltd. as an example, the enterprise is the only provincial key leading enterprise specializing in macadamia nut research, planting, acquisition, processing and sales, with an annual output of nearly 300 tons. The company has more than 50,000 growers, and macadamia nuts have become the "golden fruit" of Dehong Mountain area.
