Pest control: actively control diseases and insect pests such as locusts, red spiders and scale insects.

Cactus is a kind of temperature-loving and dry-tolerant plant, so it grows best in warm climates. Its effectiveness is very strong, the current sales in the world are very good, a lot of people want to grow it. But before planting, we need to have a comprehensive understanding of its planting technology.

First, how to grow cactus

1. Land selection: the best choice for planting edible cactus is sandy soil, which is well drained, fertile and sunny.

2. Implantation period: edible cactus can be planted all the year round, but the most suitable temperature is 20-30 ℃, and the survival rate is more than 95%. When planting, the soil should not be too wet, such as the soil is too wet, the anaerobic microorganisms in the soil will multiply in large numbers, causing the seed stem to rot and reduce the survival rate, so planting is prohibited on rainy days. Before planting, put the new palm piece in the sun until the wound dries out, then disinfect and sterilize with stone sulfur mixture, and then you can insert it.

3. Planting specifications: when planting, the bed should be 1.2 meters wide and 15-25 centimeters high, with enough rotten organic fertilizer. There are 2 rows in each bed, the plant spacing is 40 cm, the row spacing is 60 cm, 1600 to 1800 pieces per mu are planted, the planting depth is 2 to 5 of the cactus, and the direction of the palm is facing the sun (that is, east and west), so that there is sufficient sunlight on both sides of the palm and in the afternoon, which is beneficial to photosynthesis.

4. Fertilizer and water management: keep the soil moist after planting. The first fertilization can be carried out when the buds grow out of 6 cm after the seedlings are planted, and the second fertilization can be applied after harvest to promote the continuous germination of cactus. It is best to apply rotten organic fertilizer when fertilizing. The cactus does not need to apply any fertilizer during the dormant period.

5. Soil cultivation: in the process of cactus growth, with the increase of aboveground weight, soil should be cultivated in time to avoid plant lodging.

What kind of soil does the cactus use?

1. According to the actual situation of various places, rotten leaf soil, forest soil, peat soil, sand soil, pond mud or more than two kinds of soil can be used, sometimes mixed with a small amount of limestone and charcoal powder.

2. The proportion of planting soil: 4 parts of red jade soil, 3 parts of coal ash, 1 part of roving, 1 part of volcanic stone, 1 part of mixture of plant ash and carbon shell. The size of the particles depends on the size of the cactus planted.

3. The proportion of sowing soil: 3 parts of red jade soil, 3 parts of coal ash, 1 part of roving, 1 part of vermiculite, 1 part of coconut bran, 1 part of mixed plant ash and carbon shell. The particles are selected below 3mm, and the large particles are laid in the basin.

III. Pest control of cactus

1. Locusts: when eaten by cabbage insects and locusts in summer, spray with 2000 times of deltamethrin should be used to prevent it from happening.

2. Red spiders: we should try our best to defend against red spiders, so the cultivation environment must be ventilated and the humidity is suitable to avoid dryness and muggy heat as far as possible. The agents to control it are 1500 times of omethoate and 1000 times of dicofol. Spray for 1-2 weeks in summer, and thoroughly before overwintering.

3. Scale insects: drug control can not have a good expected effect on scale insects, so we should pay more attention to keep the cultivation environment clean and cut off the paper with many pests.

4. Grubs, golden needle worms and ground tigers: at this time, reasonable fertilization should be applied and 1000 times of phoxim should be used to prevent the outbreak of diseases.

IV. Reproduction of cactus

1. Grafting propagation

The main results are as follows: (1) when grafting and breeding, we should first choose the strong and bacteria-free seedlings, cut off the tip first, and then peel off the outer skin.

(2) prepare the well-growing leaf cactus plant as an auxiliary rootstock, and then cut off the bottom of the seedling to let the ball core exposed.

(3) all the tools used are then sterilized and grafted.

(4) after grafting, it should be moved to a place with relatively weak light for maintenance, and attention should be paid to loosening the soil and drainage.

2. Cuttage propagation

The main results are as follows: (1) in the cuttage propagation of cactus, we should first intercept 1 to 4 stem nodes or big branches which can be branched as cuttings.

(2) before cutting, the cuttings should be dried for three days.

(3) prepare the cutting substrate, use nutritious soil or river sand or peat soil as cutting materials, select the substrate, and directly put the sun-dried cuttings into the soil.

(4) after being inserted, it should be maintained in a warm and sunny place, pay attention to less watering, and wait for it to take root and sprout.

The planting technology of cactus mainly starts from several aspects, such as site selection, time, fertilizer and water and so on. Pest control of cactus is needed in the later stage of planting to avoid unnecessary losses caused by insect pests. The reproduction of cactus is similar to the general succulent, you can choose one of them to carry out.
