Ma Lin must be no stranger to everyone, and it is widely distributed in our country. Iris is liked by people because of its high ornamental value and medicinal value. In the past, it was more wild, but now many people still grow it. However, before planting, we need to have an in-depth understanding of its planting method.

How to raise Ma Lin

1. Reproduction: Iris is usually propagated by ramets and cuttings, or by seeds. Ramet propagation is more than in early winter or early spring dormancy period, cutting propagation is mostly propagated in spring, sowing is sown immediately after seed harvest.

2. Soil: Iris will grow poorly in acidic soil, so culture Iris should choose clayey loam rich in humus or alkaline soil mixed with calcareous. Before planting, the soil should be fully ploughed and applied with rotten compost and a small amount of bone powder and plant ash as base fertilizer. In addition, irises should not be planted too deep, and the roots should be pressed.

3. Temperature: the optimum growth temperature of Iris is 15-17 ℃, and it likes the moist environment with plenty of sunshine. However, if the light is too strong, shading should be carried out properly, and if the humidity is too high, the humidity can be reduced by heating and ventilation.

4. Watering: Iris should be watered once after planting, and then it can be watered according to the dry and wet condition of the soil. Generally, the soil is slightly dry. Do not make the soil stagnant or too wet for a long time, so as to avoid rotting roots or diseases. In order to keep the plant beautiful, the leaves of the plant can be cleaned.

5. Fertilization: once or twice mature thin cake fertilizer or compound flower fertilizer should be applied before sprouting and growing to flowering in spring, and liquid fertilizer should be applied again after flower withering.

Culture method of Iris chinensis

1. Soil and fertilizer. The adaptability of Ma Lin to the soil is still relatively strong, so it is OK to use well-drained sandy loam soil when breeding. Get rid of weeds in the soil before transplanting to ensure that nutrients are not lost and that the base fertilizer is sufficient so that Iris can grow exuberantly.

2. The transplanting of Malan. For Malan to thrive quickly, transplanting should be carried out in September, when it is slightly colder in November, and can be covered with plastic to keep warm. During the growth of Malan in autumn and winter, punctate leaf spot disease often occurs, as long as plant ash is used to control it.

3. The harvest of Malan. Because artificial cultivation can enable Malan to produce in large quantities, and Malan itself is a kind of vegetable that can be harvested all the year round, it can be harvested continuously for many years after planting, so it should be harvested on time.

Matters needing attention of Ma Lin

1. Pay attention to when picking and cutting. Be sure to keep the short shoots and shoots after picking and cutting, and then keep them in a wet pottery jar, then spray fine water to prevent wilting, and you can eat.

2. Pay attention to harvesting. After each harvest, nitrogen fertilizer should be added in time to ensure adequate nutrients.

3. Pay attention to transplanting. It should be covered with plastic when transplanting, and the plastic film should be removed after Qingming Festival to let Malan grow naturally, but pay attention to the management of fertilization and watering.

Breeding methods of Iris officinalis

The method of seed propagation: rake the nursery into a border 2m wide, sow the seeds in the strip ditch, cover the soil twice the diameter of the seeds, use about 15g seeds per square meter, produce more than 300,000 seedlings per mu, and reach physiological maturity in 2-3 years. Blossom and bear fruit.

The method of ramet propagation: the rhizome can be divided when the rhizome is elongated, usually once every 2-4 years, in spring, autumn or after flowering. When dividing the rhizome, take 2-3 buds in each section, smear the incision with plant ash or sulfur after cutting, dry slightly before planting. Generally use 15-500px row spacing, about 30 seedlings per square meter.

Iris has strong vitality and strong immunity against insect pests, so there is no need for special pest prevention. However, when breeding, it needs to have some control over its water and fertilizer. In the past, seed and ramet propagation were the most common breeding methods of Iris, and we can choose one according to our own needs.
