Violet can be seen in many places in our country at present, and it is a kind of plant with high ornamental value. A lot of people like to buy it and go home to raise it. However, if you want to raise it well, you still need to master some breeding skills, and there are many aspects that need to be paid attention to.

How to raise violets

Violet likes cold climate and avoids hot and dry weather. Like a well-ventilated environment, mild climate in winter, but can also withstand a short low temperature of-5 ℃. The suitable temperature for flower bud differentiation is 15 ℃, which is not strict to the soil, but grows well in the soil with good drainage and neutral alkali, and avoids acidic soil.

Violet is resistant to cold and shade, afraid of waterlogging, and is suitable for being born in an environment with high position, exposure to sunlight, ventilation and drainage. Avoid muggy heat, it is easy to be harmed by diseases and insects when it is hot and moldy and poorly ventilated. Require fertile, moist and deep loam; like adequate sunshine, but also slightly resistant to semi-shade; fertilization should not be too much, otherwise it is disadvantageous to flowering; if the light and ventilation are not adequate, it is easy to suffer from diseases and insect pests.

Violet culture method

1. Cultivate soil. Violet likes loose, fertile acidic soil. When potted, the culture soil made of rotten leaf soil, peat soil and sandy soil can be used.

2. The light should be suitable. Violets prefer a semi-overcast environment. However, too much shade will lead to too little or no flowering of violets; if the light is too strong, it will cause the leaves to yellowing and make the plants dry and damaged.

3. The temperature should be suitable. The suitable temperature for violet growth is 18 ℃-24 ℃. When the temperature exceeds 27 ℃, it will lead to poor growth and lack of water. The temperature will be lower than 12 ℃ at the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, so pot violets should be moved indoors for breeding, otherwise they will be frostbitten.

4. Appropriate amount of watering. The violets should be watered thoroughly and placed in a cool, dark place. After 3-4 days, they can be placed in a well-ventilated sunny place. Of course, do not water too much, otherwise it will cause rotten roots. At the same time, we should be careful not to splash on the leaves, otherwise it will cause the leaves to rot.

5. Fertilization should be light. During the growth and development period of Violet, a thin rotten liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer is applied once every 7-10 days. The application of nitrogen fertilizer should not be too much, and the ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium should be 1:1:1. If more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer is applied after the emergence of flower buds, the flowers will be large and colorful.

6. the coring and seed collection of potted violets need to rise to about 9 leaves and need to be coring to promote branching. The plant grows to 40cm and needs to be supported by a thin bamboo pole. As a reserved seed, the seeds should be harvested in time before the pods turn yellow and do not crack.

Notes on Violet

Violets will bloom in mid-April. After flowering, it is necessary to cut the flower branches and apply topdressing for 1 to 2 times, so that it can branch again and blossom for the second time from June to July. Good mother plants should be selected for seed collection. Violet plants should be kept away from other cruciferous species in order to prevent interspecific hybridization.

Disease Control methods of Violet

1. Downy mildew. Prevention and treatment: avoid cutting Huan for too long and remove the diseased plant in time. The use of a new fungicide subpound acid ethyl a3, the concentration is 2ml 3g per liter of water.

2. Violet Fusarium wilt. Control methods: the seeds can be soaked with 50-55 ℃ warm water for 10 minutes, which can kill the germs carried by the seeds; the soil used for growing violets should be disinfected and reused, and 1000 times potassium permanganate solution can be used.

3. Violet white rust. Control methods: if violets are placed together with other cruciferous plants, they will infect each other, so weeds should be eradicated and isolated; Violet plants should be sprayed with Baume 3-4 degrees stone sulfur mixture to prevent diseases, and 65% zinc wettable powder 500 times 600 times should be sprayed during the growing season according to the incidence.

The cultivation of violets can start with its growth habits. First of all, the proportion of soil should be carried out, and then the light and temperature should be controlled. In the process of breeding, fertilizer and water is also a very important link. Do not water and fertilize too much, or it will cause death.
