Daisy is a kind of plant that likes temperature and can't bear high temperature. It stops growing in summer. Daisies are very ornamental, so they are very popular with people, and now many people want to plant them. But before planting, everyone must want to know its planting technology and planting time.

When will daisies be sown?

Generally speaking, the sowing time of daisies is from August to September. Daisies have cold-resistant ecological habits and like sunny and cool climates. Not resistant to shade, high temperature and severe frost. It is easy to die if it blossoms poorly under hot conditions.

How to plant daisy seeds

1. Seed treatment. The seeds of daisies can be soaked in water before sowing to absorb water and promote germination. when soaking, it is best to use a small cup, and then put the seeds in and soak them for one night before taking them out.

2. Soil and seedling basin. The seed planting of daisies is best to cultivate the seedlings in the seedling pot before transplanting. Because it is the soil used to cultivate seeds, it is fine to use ordinary soil. And the cultivation basin does not have much requirement, the general container can.

3. Sow seeds. August to September is the best time to sow seeds. Wet the soil before sowing before sowing. Because the seeds of daisies are very small, so the seeds are usually sown directly, and it is better to spread them evenly, so as to increase the germination rate. After sowing the seeds, cover with a thin layer of soil, about 3 mm, and then spray the soil to moisten it.

4. Requirements after sowing. Maintain a temperature of 18-20 ℃ and 80-90% soil moisture after sowing. Do not put it in a sunny environment. It usually germinates 5-8 days after sowing.

Fertilizer and water technology of daisy

1. Fertilization. Newly emerging daisies can give a little fertilizer to promote daisies to take root and grow leaves, but do not apply too much fertilizer and fertilize too much, after all, newly emerging daisies are still very fragile. In addition, daisies are fertilizer-loving flowers, and the base fertilizer in its medium alone can not meet its growth needs. Therefore, the principle of frequent application of light fertilizer should be followed after transplanting, and fertilizer can be increased appropriately when the flowering season (March-June) is approaching.

2. Watering. Keep the basin soil moist for a period of time when the seedlings are just growing, but avoid stagnant water, and then slowly water less as the seedlings grow to make the seedlings adapt to the environment. Prepare for planting. After transplanting, it should not be dry or watered, but it should be thoroughly watered. In summer, the frequency of watering is increased when the weather is hot and dry.

Common diseases of daisies and their control methods

1. The main diseases of daisy are leaf blight, seedling sudden fall, gray mildew, brown spot, anthracnose, downy mildew (which can be controlled by chlorothalonil 800-1000 times, 1000-1500 times). Insect pests include chrysanthemum longicorn beetles, cotton aphids, Qichao, ground tigers, green leafhoppers, aphids and so on. The disease infects daisy leaves. At the initial stage of the disease, small chlorotic spots appeared on the leaves, and gradually enlarged to form round, semicircular or oval spots. The disease spot is light brown to grayish white, with reddish-brown rings on the edge. Under moist conditions, a pink myxospore disk appears on the spot. Anthrax occurs from April to June. The pathogen overwintered in diseased leaves with conidia and was transmitted by wind and rain.

2. prevention and control methods: prevention of diseases and insect pests should be given priority to, spraying targeted drugs and new high-fat film to greatly improve the effective composition rate of pesticides, not afraid of sun exposure and evaporation, can adjust the absorption of water-saving, drought and rain prevention. During cultivation, close planting should be avoided and cool environmental conditions with ventilation, ventilation and sufficient light should be maintained as far as possible, otherwise the plant will grow thin and overgrown. Keep clean, find infected plants, leaves, must be removed and cleaned at any time. When the disease occurs, chemical control measures should be taken immediately.

The planting time of daisies is generally near the beginning of autumn, when planting, we must do a good job in seed selection, and then deal with the seeds, which will generally soak for one night to promote germination. In the later stage of sowing, the most important thing is fertilizer and water technology and pest control, and work in these areas should also be strengthened.
