Many people like pine cones very much and want to grow decorative flowers at home or in the courtyard. Then the following editor will introduce some planting methods of echinacea to you!

How to plant echinacea seeds

1. Seed treatment

The seeds were soaked, germinated and disinfected before sowing.

Put the seeds into a basin, add 35 ℃-40 ℃ warm water, gently stir to soak all the seeds in water, after 2 mi for 3 hours, then put the seeds into 800 ℃ 1000 times potassium permanganate solution, disinfect for about 15 minutes.

Next, take out the seeds, put them evenly on the newspaper, and then put them in a sunny and ventilated place to dry them for 2 hours.

2. Specific steps

Echinacea sowing is generally carried out by sowing.

When sowing, first put some fine soil in the basin, then mix the seeds with the fine soil by hand, then sprinkle the seeds evenly in the substrate, and then cover a layer of matrix and water once. Watering should be flooded with small water to avoid alluvial seeds together, the emergence of uneven phenomenon. Generally, the seedlings will break out of the ground in about 8 days, and all the seedlings will come out in about 15 days.

3. Management after sowing

Echinacea seedlings require less water in the early stage, and generally do not need watering, just keep the soil moist. When the seedlings grow 3 true leaves, start watering, generally watering every 20 days, in case of cloudy and rainy days, pay attention to timely drainage.

With the growth of echinacea seedlings, weeds will gradually emerge. In order to prevent weeds from competing with seedlings for water and nutrients, weeds should be removed in time, preferably by hand.

If it is autumn sowing, pour anti-freezing water once before winter, cover the seedlings with plastic sheeting within 3 days after watering, wait for the spring temperature to rise, and the mulch can be removed in early April.

Sowing method of echinacea

Sowing can be carried out in late April in spring or early September in autumn. after leveling the depth of the seedling bed in the open field, pour water thoroughly, and sow seeds evenly until all the water seeps into the ground.

When sowing, it is guaranteed to sow about 1000 seeds per square meter, the temperature is controlled at about 22 ℃, and seedlings can emerge in 13 to 15 days.

When the seedlings grow out of two true leaves, they can be transplanted.

How to transplant echinacea

When raising the seedlings, the seedlings should be dug up together with the root soil to minimize the damage to the roots of the seedlings, so as to improve the survival rate after transplanting.

When planting, you should choose the number of plants according to the size of the flowerpot. Generally, 5 trees should be planted.

Dig a small hole with a shovel in the basin, put the seedlings in and then straighten them up, then fill them with the surrounding soil, compact the soil with your hands, and then pour water once to ensure the survival of the seedlings.

Key points of post-maintenance

1. Lighting

It is also mentioned above that they prefer sunshine and can adapt to drought conditions. Their most comfortable light time is 14-16 hours a day, so it is very suitable for flower friends who live in the south to plant, preferably with high light intensity for seven or eight weeks. But if planted in the north, it usually blossoms in May, but it can last until September.

2. Fertilization

After planting, echinacea can basically use fertilizer once or twice a week, as well as timely supplement of magnesium, which can prevent them from nutritional imbalance. In addition, some slow-release fertilizers can be added when planting, so that they can grow better within 3-5 months without lack of nutrition.

3. Temperature

The temperature they like is also different in different stages. When the growth is good, it should be kept at 16-24 ℃ and 10-16 ℃ at night, but it needs a higher temperature during germination, and it is best to keep it at 22-24 ℃. In this state, it can germinate in 2-4 days.

Echinacea is a kind of delicate, gaudy flowers, very refreshing and beautiful, and the florescence is very long, deeply loved and sought after by everyone. How can such beautiful flowers not want to be raised by their own side?
