When is the best time to plant roses?
The weather is getting warmer, all kinds of flowers and plants begin to compete for beauty, and the rose begins to show its branches and buds. Rose is a relatively easy to feed ornamental flowers, generally do not need too much care to produce beautiful flowers. But many people are not familiar with how it propagates, the following editor will introduce its grafting and cutting propagation methods.
Rose grafting method
1. Grafting time
Rose can be grafted at any time of the year, but the specific situation should be analyzed. The survival rate of grafting decreased relatively when the air temperature was more than 33 ℃, and the grafted plants were dormant when the temperature was lower than 5 ℃, so it was suitable to use winter dormancy period for grafting.
2. Grafting steps
1. First select the rootstock. The rootstock needs to find more rhizomes to survive. If there is a tumor on the rhizome, cut off the nodular rhizome. Let it cut about 1.5 centimeters obliquely with a knife at the joint. Be careful not to cross it off.
2. When dealing with the scion, select the variety of scion you want to graft and cut off all the thorns on the scion. If you are not in a hurry, you can put the treated one in water first, but it can only last for 2 days. Let the grafting place be cut off obliquely, just like the bottom of the straw.
3. Butt the two interfaces together and wrap them with a grafting tape. Don't wrap them too much or too loosely.
4. Move the grafted ones to the soil, keep the soil moist all the time, and put the flowerpot in a warm, sunny place.
When is the best time for rose cuttage?
1. Softwood cutting
It grows best from April to May and from September to October, and it is most easy to take root and survive when the temperature is 2-5 ℃. The soil should remain moist, but should not be too wet, so that the soil has enough air to prevent the wound from mildew and rot, and gradually increase the exposure time of sunlight in about half a month to increase photosynthesis and facilitate rooting. When the new buds grow and the old leaves do not fall off, it means that the cuttings have taken root and survived and can be transplanted.
2. Hardwood cuttings
The soil and soil preparation are the same as tender cutting, and the fallen leaves of rose can be cut into dormancy until they sprout in spring next year.
3. Bud insertion
Because of the strong growth ability of new buds in spring, the survival rate of using them as cutting material is high.
4. All-day cutting
Full-day cutting is in the whole cutting process, without shading, so that it can be exposed to sufficient sunlight, but because the cuttings have no roots and can not absorb water normally, in order to make the cuttings carry out normal photosynthesis and life activities, it is necessary to replenish water from the leaves and spray water on the leaves frequently.
If there is no spraying device, it can be solved by spraying water frequently, spraying water once in half an hour in the first week and 2 hours after a week, so the seedbed of all-day cutting is mainly vegetarian sand, and it can be transplanted after 3 weeks.
When will the rose be pruned?
1. Time for pruning
In general, pruning is carried out in December every year when the rose leaves fall, when it is re-cut, leaving only the 15cm of the plant, and cutting off the diseased branches on the plant at the same time.
The second thing is to trim it after the flower. It usually blossoms for the first time and can be trimmed in May. After the second flowering, it was pruned from June to July. After the third flowering, it was pruned in August. When the bud grows, it is also necessary to pick the bud at the right time to make it blossom with sufficient nutrients and can blossom in batches.
II. Matters needing attention in pruning
1. Rose flowers are very important when pruning in winter. Pay attention to the time of pruning not too early, because the branches are easy to germinate.
2. When pruning, you should pay attention to the degree of pruning, depending on what kind of tree you need. Different plant needs, there are different pruning methods, light cutting, heavy cutting, all depend on the needs of the plant.
How to cultivate rose in water
1. Hydroponic culture method
After the moon flowers fade, cut off the residual flowers and let the flower branches grow for several days, wait for the first axillary buds on the flower branches to grow stronger and accumulate nutrients, then cut off the cuttings of 3 nodes, remove the petiole of the bottom layer, cut the surface of the bottom bud into a bevel with a sharp blade, and immediately insert it into a prepared bottle filled with clean water.
In order to reduce the water evaporation of leaves, some leaves can be cut off. In the case of avoiding light, the incision is easy to grow new roots, so brown bottles should be used. If there is no brown, you can wrap the bottle with a black plastic film. Put the bottle on the south-facing windowsill and do not bask in the sun directly.
2. Hydroponic maintenance
When the temperature is high, the water can be changed once a week. When the temperature is 15-25 ℃, it only takes about 20 days to grow roots, and when the young roots grow to 1-2 cm long, they can be transplanted in a pot. Because the young root grows in water, in order to make it adapt to the environment, it is watered once a day at the beginning of transplanting, and then decreases gradually. After a week of shading, you can see the sun sooner or later, and you can survive.
What many flower growers look forward to most is to see their own flowers and plants blossom in beautiful flowers, not only to beautify the home environment, but also to make our mood very happy. It is very important to master the key points of rose culture. Proper maintenance can blossom all the year round.
