African jasmine, formerly known as ash tree, is an evergreen shrub or small tree. In fact, African jasmine is not jasmine, only because its leaves are similar to jasmine and its name is similar, so it has the interesting name of "African jasmine". African jasmine as a common family decoration pot, how do we maintain, and how to solve the problems?

What if African jasmine loses its leaves?

The growth of African jasmine is picky about the environment. If it is not properly maintained, it is easy to grow slowly and often lose leaves. The most commonly used method to save African jasmine from falling leaves is to "cut short branches to promote new leaves". The operation method is as follows:

1. Water control was carried out before May Day after the beginning of spring to dry African jasmine plants for a period of time.

2. After May Day, the plant was first heavily truncated, leaving 2-3 bud holes in the base of the surrounding branches, all the rest were cut off, and none of the leaves were left.

3. Immediately change the basin after a short cut, apply sufficient bottom fertilizer, and then fully water it many times, and do not water until a large number of new buds appear.

4. keep it in a cool and ventilated place, pay attention to observation at this time, prevent insects and diseases, and protect buds are very important.

5. after the buds increase gradually, pay attention to the planned choice and grow according to the expected plant type. at the same time, the dry branches should be cut off at any time.

6. 3 months after truncation, the sun should be seen gradually, and the moisture should be sufficient, but it should not be waterlogged, so pay attention to maintenance.

The solution of yellowing of African jasmine leaves

1. If the old leaves are yellow first and the new leaves are not affected, if so, it is a typical symptom of K deficiency, and K can be transferred in the plant. With compound fertilizer or potassium nitrate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate topdressing twice, 10 days apart, the symptoms will be relieved after half a month.

2. Potted plants are required to have sufficient scattered light, or placed near the window, should not be too dark, otherwise the leaves will lose green and yellowing or fall off.

3. If the lower leaves of potted plants turn yellow and fall off, it is likely to be due to stagnant water and rotten roots, so it is necessary to turn the pot and change the soil in time.

4. African jasmine should stop fertilizing from October, and the flowerpot should be moved into the sunny place before Frosts Descent. When you first enter the room, you should always open the window for ventilation, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow and fall off.

5. During the whole overwintering period, the room temperature should be more than 10 ℃. If the room temperature is below 10 ℃ for a long time, the leaf will fall off.

6. maintain good ventilation and air humidity.

7. Soil permeability, which grows best on loam with loose and fertile soil and good drainage.

How to cultivate African jasmine in hydroponics

1. Choose African jasmine branches with 5-8cm for more than one year. Prepare a mineral water bottle as a hydroponic container. If it can be stuffed into a hydroponic bottle, keep all the leaves of the branches and don't cut off any of them.

2. The mouth of the hydroponic bottle cannot be covered with the lid, and the bottle also needs to be ventilated. Before taking root, keep the leaves in the bottle facing the sun as much as possible.

3, it is best to use mineral water as the medium, do not use tap water, the depth of the water is about 1cm, to ensure that the water surface can submerge African jasmine branches, the shallower the water, the shallower the water, the higher the average dissolved oxygen in the water, which is more conducive to the rooting of African jasmine branches.

4. the temperature of the water must be well controlled. in summer, when the temperature is relatively high, it is best to accept scattered light on the south windowsill of the air-conditioned room. In the spring and autumn season, the bottom of the hydroponic bottle can be shaded properly.

Points for attention in raising African jasmine

1. If the domesticated African jasmine is a bag-planted or ground-planted seedling just purchased from the south in autumn and winter, we should do a good job of cold prevention in winter. When the strong cold air in the north goes south and the temperature drops greatly, the electric furnace, heater and coal stove should be used in the greenhouse to ensure that the temperature in the greenhouse is not lower than 5 ℃, otherwise it will be difficult for the frozen plants to resume growth in a short time in the second year.

2. For a small number of potted plants left in the office or room, in addition to adding a set of double-layer plastic film bags, the air conditioner or heater can be turned on at night and must not be taken lightly.

African jasmine is becoming more and more popular with urban families because of its fresh air, anti-evil and wind-attracting function, as well as simple, natural and pure flower language. African jasmine is easy to adapt to unfamiliar environment, easy to cultivate and easy to survive, so it is the best choice in decorating the courtyard.
