What to do with the yellowing leaves of hibiscus hibiscus? the reason and solution of losing leaves in hibiscus
Bi Mei Meng Jiang, de Yin does not forget that hibiscus flowers are rich in color. Ancient writers have countless descriptions of hibiscus flowers, among which the favorite is "the wind is cold and the sky is dusk." There are hibiscus flowers in the atrium, glory and fall in the same morning. Then in the cultivation of hibiscus will also encounter the problem of yellowing leaves, how to solve it?
What if the leaves of hibiscus turn yellow?
1. Pay attention to watering. Hibiscus likes a warm and humid climate, and you can keep the soil moist during the growing period. This can happen when it is too dry or too much water. Usually control the amount of water, rainy days to do a good job of drainage.
2, pay attention to fertilization, hibiscus fertilization with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer as the main fertilizer, supplemented with nitrogen fertilizer for reasonable topdressing, if too much fertilizer will burn the root system, will make the leaves yellow and fall.
3. To prevent diseases and insect pests, leaf blight is one of the causes of hibiscus leaves yellowing and withering. It is characterized by many small black disease spots on the back of the leaves. The use of mancozeb and other sprays can make the leaves return to normal. Aphids are one of the more common insect pests in hibiscus. They absorb the leaf juice of the leaves. If they absorb too much, the leaves will gradually turn yellow and wilt. If so, it is necessary to spray pesticide spray in time for treatment.
In addition, changing pots during flowering will also cause yellowing of plant leaves, this is because changing pots will cause certain damage to the root system of hibiscus, once the root system is damaged, it will cause some damage to its flowers and leaves, resulting in yellowing and shedding of leaves.
The cause of losing leaves of hibiscus and its solution
1. Improper watering
Hibiscus does not have high requirements for water, so it is OK to keep it moist and not dry during its growth, but if it is watered too little, or if it does not pay attention to drainage and too much water, it will cause hibiscus leaves to yellowing and fall, so even if hibiscus does not have strict requirements for water, we should also pay attention to maintaining the supply and treatment of water.
2. Unreasonable fertilization
Many people hope that hibiscus can grow vigorously and blossom, so they will pay attention to fertilizing hibiscus. In fact, hibiscus is mainly based on phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, supplemented by nitrogen fertilizer and reasonable topdressing. If you apply too much fertilizer, it will be troublesome. The most obvious thing is to burn the roots, resulting in leaves yellowing and falling off, so if the hibiscus leaves yellowing and falling after fertilization, you should pay attention to check whether it is the problem of excessive fertilization.
3. Failed to spray aphids on time
Aphids are very common pests, and they are also dangerous to the growth of hibiscus. Aphids suck more leaf juice, and the leaf juice on the leaf surface dries up, so the leaves slowly turn yellow, so you have to see if the aphids are responsible for the yellowing and falling of the leaves. If so, you can spray 40% omethoate EC 1000 times.
4. No control of leaf blight
The occurrence of leaf blight will also cause hibiscus leaves yellowing and wilting, this need will check whether there are black spots on the back, if it is leaf blight, you can use 80% methyl topiramate or Dysenmeng zinc, spray once every 5 days, until the leaves recover!
5. Change pots during flowering
In order to promote the healthy growth of hibiscus, changing pots is also very necessary, but it is necessary to grasp the time. Changing pots is strictly prohibited during flowering, because changing pots will somehow cause damage to the roots. Once the lower roots are damaged, the upper flowers and leaves will definitely be affected, and it will be easy for the leaves to turn yellow and fall.
How to choose hibiscus flowers
Wrinkled or irregularly shaped, 2-4cm long, 1-2cm wide, all hairy. Calyx bell-shaped, yellowish green or yellow, apex 5-lobed, lobes triangular, calyx tube outer bracts 6-7, strip, calyx tube often with pedicels, 3-7mm long, calyx, bracts, pedicel surface are densely covered with fine hairs and stellate hairs; petals 5 or double, yellowish white to yellowish brown, base connate with stamens, and densely white villous. Stamens numerous, filament lower part connected to synthesize tube, enclosing style, stigma 5 divergent, protruding outside filament tube. Light and crisp, slightly fragrant and light in taste.
How to reproduce hibiscus flower
1. Cuttage propagation
Cuttings are easy to survive, some even use long branches, but the depth of the soil must at least reach 20cm, otherwise it is easy to lodge or sprout because of shallow roots and is vulnerable to drought; generally, cuttings in spring can blossom in summer and autumn.
2. Cutting time and method
After the local temperature has steadily passed 15 ℃, select 1-2-year-old strong and unsprouted branches (if the hibiscus branches sprout and grow leaves, the new leaves should be removed), cut into the 15~20cm segment, prepare a small stick when cutting, insert a small hole in the seedling bed according to the plant and row spacing, and then insert the hibiscus branches to compaction the soil and penetrate the depth of 10~15cm, that is, it is appropriate to cut into the depth of the cuttings. Fill with water immediately after insertion. There is no need to apply any base fertilizer when cutting. When indoor potted cutting, choose 1-2-year-old strong branches, grow about 10cm, remove the lower leaves, cut off half of the upper leaves, cuttage in a small bowl with coarse sand as the matrix, moisturize with plastic cover, maintain high humidity, under the condition of 18-25 ℃, it can take root in about 20 days.
Cutting density
The density of seedling transplanting is different from that of direct transplanting. In order to facilitate the operation, the ① seedling transplanting method makes the border according to the width 100cm and height 25cm of the border, and transplants according to the plant and row spacing of 15 × 30cm, while the ② direct transplanting method can be planted in a single row according to the plant and row spacing of 50 × 60cm, or the border can be made of wide 60cm and high 25cm, and the double rows on the border are in the shape of "product", and the plant spacing is 60cm. In cultivation, we can make use of the flowering characteristics of cutting seedlings in the same year, cut according to the seedling transplanting density, and carry on the seedlings according to a certain density before sprouting in spring every year after the second year, so as to ensure that hibiscus has enough nutrition space for the growth of that year, so as to increase the yield of fresh flowers.
3. Ramet propagation
Before sprouting in early spring, the adult plants with exuberant growth were dug up and planted with 3 main branches as a clump according to the plant and row spacing of 50 × 60cm.
Hibiscus flowers are beautiful, luxuriant branches and leaves, long flowering period, full of purple, red and white flowers, gorgeous and charming. Hibiscus flower pattern is particularly consistent with its name, gentle atmosphere, bright and moving, but also tells us that hibiscus in the past, long years, I wish you well.
