Primrose is a highly ornamental flower plant, the flower is common in the yellow flowers, because it blooms in the spring, so the name. Primrose used to be common in the wild, but now many people have begun to raise it. However, before breeding, most people must be more concerned about its breeding technology.

How to raise primroses

Primroses should be placed in a sunny, well-ventilated and humid place for maintenance. In winter, the south can safely survive the winter by burying the pot to welcome spring in the leeward and sunny soil, while in the north, it should be moved to a low temperature (about 5 ℃) indoor in the early winter. If you want to make Yingchun blossom ahead of time, you can timely move it into the sunny room at medium temperature or high temperature. If you put it in the sunny place of about 13 ℃, spray clear water to the branches and leaves once or twice a day, it will blossom in about 20 days; if it is placed in the sunny place of about 20 ℃, it will bloom in about 10 days. After flowering, keep the room temperature at about 8 ℃, and be careful not to let the wind blow directly to it, which can prolong the flowering period. After blooming, the higher the room temperature, the faster the flowers wither.

Culture method of primrose

1. Soil. The soil of primrose requires loose, fertile and good drainage. And ensure that the soil is acidic, alkaline soil will grow poorly.

2. Watering. Primroses like the moist environment, before and after flowering should be more watering, to keep the soil moist, generally watering 1-3 times. Water more before the rainy season, and try not to water it on cloudy and rainy days. Do not apply fertilizer during the growing season. Usually water immediately after applying fertilizer. After the Beginning of Autumn, do not water to prevent the branches from growing, so you can't get through the winter safely.

3. Light. Before and after the Spring Festival, the primrose should be moved to indoor maintenance. Keep the room temperature about 15 ℃, and the flowers can be seen after 15 days. When the summer sun is hot and the temperature is high, move the primrose pots to the semi-shady place, which is conducive to the growth of primroses.

4. Fertilization. When potted, put a few pieces of hoof in the basin as base fertilizer. Or when preparing flower soil, add a small amount of organic fertilizer. In the growing season of primrose, rarefied liquid fertilizer is applied once or twice a month. The flower bud differentiation period of primrose is from July to August, so more phosphate fertilizer should be applied to promote flower bud differentiation. In the early stage of flowering, the application of mature organic liquid fertilizer can ensure the bright flowers and colors of primrose and prolong the flowering period.

Matters needing attention in the culture of primrose

1. If you want the primrose to bloom during the Spring Festival, according to the size of the buds, move the plant to an environment of 12: 16 ℃ 2-3 weeks before the Spring Festival, water it once every 3 days, spray on the branches and leaves, and bask in the sun.

2. The newly planted primrose should be watered thoroughly, placed in a cool place for 10 days, and then preserved in a semi-overcast and semi-sunny place for a week, and gradually moved to a sunny place for maintenance.

3. In winter, the whole pot plant can be buried in the leeward and sunny soil in the south, while the north needs to be moved to indoor maintenance to control the temperature above 5 ℃.

How to trim primroses

The main results are as follows: 1. When planting, there is sufficient base fertilizer in the basin, and it is suitable for pruning until mid-July. Control watering after pruning and watering when you see the leaves curling. Phosphate fertilizer was applied twice in September and normal maintenance in October. To ensure plenty of sunshine in November, prune again after seeing the bud in January. When blooming, the branches should be about 10 cm, full of flowers.

2. Primroses are usually trimmed twice, once after blooming in spring, and trimmed again after growing for a period of time. Within 10 days after the flowers withered, the flower branches were pruned, and each flower branch retained 2-3 flower buds. In order to ensure the beautiful appearance, the lateral buds can be truncated in late March and early April, and the lateral buds can be removed a little according to the growth of the branches.

When raising primroses, it is necessary to regulate the temperature and the ratio of soil. Too low temperature in winter may cause plant death. In breeding, fertilizer and pruning are very important, pruning must pay attention to time, the only way to ensure its growth.
