Rubber tree is a kind of ornamental plant with leaves as the main ornamental. Its leaves are small and evergreen all the year round. If they are cultivated well, the leaves may show crimson, which is very pleasing to the eye. Now many people like to buy and raise plants at home. However, when most people raise rubber trees, they want to have an in-depth understanding of its farming methods.

How to raise a rubber tree

1. Soil: rubber tree has strong adaptability to soil, likes loose and fertile humus soil, and can tolerate light alkali and slight acid. Young plants should be changed every spring, and mature plants can be changed every two or three years. Family cultivation in order to control the size of the plant, should not be replaced into the big basin.

2. Temperature: rubber trees grow fastest under 30 ℃ of high temperature, but they are afraid of extreme heat. When the weather is hot, they should pay attention to spraying water to the leaves to increase air humidity. It is not cold-resistant, the best overwintering temperature is not less than 15 ℃, and it is easy to suffer frost injury when the temperature is lower than 5-8 ℃.

3, lighting: rubber trees like light, can withstand direct sunlight, but also can withstand semi-shade, and grow relatively well in semi-shade environment. Like warmth, not cold-resistant, like good ventilation, poor ventilation will lead to fallen leaves. Like moist, slightly resistant to drought. Like moist air, too dry for a long time, poor growth, smaller leaves.

Culture method of rubber tree

The main results are as follows: 1. The best propagation time: rubber trees are best propagated in spring and summer.

2. Watering method. Rubber trees like to be wet, but avoid waterlogging and are not resistant to drought. Keep the basin soil moist in spring and autumn, and often sprinkle water to the leaves and around to increase air humidity. The water evaporates quickly in summer, and the rubber tree needs more water, so it needs to be watered every day and the watering times are increased at the same time. When the temperature is low in winter, it is better to keep it slightly wet. If the temperature is about 10 ℃, water more appropriately so as not to dry the basin soil and cause fallen leaves.

3. The method of fertilization. Rubber trees like fertilizer, but avoid nitrogen fertilizer, when there is too much nitrogen fertilizer, the stem node is only long, the leaf spacing is enlarged, and the plant shape is not beautiful. Therefore, in the growing season, compound fertilizer was applied once every 20 days, and a small amount of potassium dihydrogen phosphate was added. In order to control the height of adult plants, mixed fertilizer can be applied once every two months.

4. Pick the heart. When the rubber tree grows to 30cm to 50cm high, cut off the top leaves and buds. In general, the 2-3 lateral buds near the top are very easy to germinate, and the lateral branches are cup-shaped or Y-shaped after the lateral branches grow, and the coring operation is very easy.

Matters needing attention in rubber tree culture

The main results are as follows: 1. The optimum temperature for the growth of rubber tree is 2530 ℃. If it is lower than 3 ℃ in winter, the leaves will turn yellow and fall off. Therefore, it should be kept indoors in a sunny place in winter and keep the room temperature above 10 ℃. When more than 35 ℃ in summer, the plant should be moved to a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, and timely water spray to cool down.

2. Rubber tree is a plant of Moraceae, and the whole plant contains milk. Therefore, it is necessary to apply charcoal powder immediately after each pruning, so as not to flow out too much juice and cause water loss and death.

3. The rubber tree needs to change the direction of the basin regularly in the seedling stage, in order to prevent the plant from growing on one side, resulting in small and correct plant shape and beautiful appearance.

What if the rubber tree is too tall?

1. When the rubber tree is too tall, cutting short is the best choice. To be honest, it is not unusual for it to grow tall, which means that this unusual situation needs to be dealt with, because if its plant grows taller, it will cause its nutrients to be consumed, and there will be problems with its growth in the future.

2. So we have to cut off the branches and leaves at the top of it, which can control the speed of its vertical growth and make it grow horizontally. Of course, we don't have to worry that if there is something wrong with its own growth after we truncate it, as long as we can provide it with the water and fertilizer it needs, it will not have a problem.

Rubber tree culture must pay attention to temperature and light, the temperature is too high or too low will affect its growth, summer light must do a good shade treatment. Then fertilizer and water is also very important, we need to strengthen management, only in this way can we ensure its growth.
