How to deal with Narcissus after flowering

Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Many people who breed daffodils have always hoped that they can continue to raise daffodils after they bloom, although most of the time daffodils can only blossom once, but that doesn't mean we don't have a way to keep it blooming. Let's talk about what we are going to do in detail.

1. Buried bulb

Daffodils are perennials. In fact, they are bulbs. If they are buried in the soil, they can continue to grow. The garden we chose should be leeward and facing the sun, and the soil should be deeper. The next thing to do is to build higher ridges and place them in the soil, with the leaves on their own. After January, the leaves will be dry and dormant, so take the bulb out of the soil, cut its finely crushed roots, cut off the yellow leaves along the bottom, and then bury the bulb at a depth of 10 centimeters. and use rotten fertilizer or manure, and then flatten it.

Can't save trouble, bury it and don't care about anything else, because it takes a long time in the soil, especially in summer and autumn, the temperature is relatively high, put it in, the leaves are not on it, if you don't water it and fertilize it, it will lead to its death.

2. Dig the bulb

After burying it, the subsequent work is to maintain and manage it. In peacetime, as long as we pay attention to provide rich nutrition, while maintaining the moisture of the soil, of course, we can not accumulate water, the bulb can grow well. In November and December, when we dig it out, we will find that the previous bulb has rotted away and become empty, but there will still be some bulbs around. After digging out the bulbs with relatively large buds, we clean the dirt, in addition to the surface soil, place it in the sun for a few hours, and then draw a "ten" notch on it to keep its scales from being hurt. in this way, the buds and leaves can grow. Then we soak it in water for a day, wash the mucus from the cut, and then we can get it well. After 3 days, its bottom can grow white fiber root, also can sprout gradually. And that is not a big bulb we are in no hurry to deal with, let it stay in the soil for a year, and then in the next year, when it grows stronger, and then dig it out for breeding.
