Buttercup, also known as celery flower, its design and color is rich, but the flower shape looks like peony, often friends see it as if they are looking at the shadow of "others". But this similarity not only does not make people hate it, but love it more, attracting a large number of true love fans. Buttercup is a perennial bulb flower, so follow the editor to learn how to grow it.

How to plant buttercup seeds

1. Sowing time

The best temperature for buttercup seed germination is between 10-15 ℃. Generally, it is chosen to sow in October. In order to prolong the growth period, it can also start sowing in September.

2. Seeding box

In order to facilitate management, buttercups are often sown in sowing boxes. Buttercups like sandy soil that is rich in humus, loose, fertile and permeable, so be prepared to sow the soil before sowing.

Cover the bottom of the sowing box with drainage holes at the bottom with broken tiles and cover with coarse sand 1 to 2 centimeters thick, then fill in the prepared sowing soil until 2 to 3 centimeters away from the mouth of the box, scraped and compacted with a wooden board.

3. Sowing seeds

Sowing with fresh seeds, because fresh seeds are more active, and then sowed on the sowing box, covered with fine soil, the thickness of the covering soil shall prevail. Then it is gently compacted with a plank, and then put into a water container (or into a pre-dug geosyncline to release water into the tank) to make the water seep into the box from the bottom of the box and soak the soil. Note that when soaking the box, the water level should not be higher than the surface of the box soil, so as not to wash away the seeds.

Seed planting methods and matters needing attention of Ranunculus chinensis

I. planting methods

1. Soil: buttercup prefers neutral or alkaline soil with good drainage, fertile and loose, and sufficient base fertilizer is applied when planting. Potted plants require sandy culture soil rich in humus, loose and fertile, and strong permeability. Two parts of garden soil, one part of rotten leaf soil and one part of barnyard manure can be used as basin soil.

2. Illumination: buttercup is not tolerant to strong light and likes semi-shade environment. Sufficient light should be provided in winter. With the increase of air temperature and light intensity in spring, proper shading and ventilation should be strengthened. In addition, buttercup is a long-sunshine plant, and the flowering period can be controlled according to its characteristics.

3. Watering: buttercup likes to be wet and afraid of waterlogging, and is more resistant to drought, but it is not suitable for excessive drought. Water should be fully watered for the first time after planting, and then watering should be timely and balanced, and should not be too dry and wet. The watering degree should be that the soil surface is dry and the leaves do not wilt.

4. Fertilizer: before planting buttercup, organic fertilizer such as rotten cake fertilizer or animal manure should be selected as base fertilizer and spread evenly. After transplanting, topdressing began when the plant grew obviously or grew new leaves, mainly urea in the early stage and compound fertilizer in the later stage, applying once every 7 days.

5. Temperature: Ranunculus prefers cold environment, and the optimum growth temperature is 15-20 ℃ in daytime and 7-8 ℃ at night. The temperature should not be too high or too low, and the temperature difference between day and night should not be too large, otherwise the growth and development of buttercup will be affected, resulting in the decline of the number and quality of flowers.

II. Points for attention

1. Insect pests: if buttercup is growing at high temperature and high humidity, it is easy to cause plant overgrowth, yellow leaf and stem base rot. The main pests are root maggots and leaf miners, which are sprayed with 1000 times of omethoate EC, and root rot is irrigated with 1000 times of 50% benzoate wettable powder.

2. Pruning: buttercup is a kind of flower plant with beautiful plant type and bright color, which grows rapidly. At the initial stage of budding, each plant is selected to leave 3-5 strong buds, and the rest is removed. At this time, the potted soil should be a little drier. If there is no need to leave seeds after flowering, the residual flowers should be cut off in time.

The method of sprouting of Ranunculus

1. Preparatory stage

First cover the bottom of the container with 1-2 forest dense perlite or sand, put the buttercup upside down on it, and then cover it with a layer of perlite until the buttercup is completely gone. Then spray water with a spray can to wet the perlite and sand. Water can accumulate in the container, but the water must not pass through the claws of the buttercup.

2. Water absorption stage

Put the container in the refrigerator and set the temperature to about 5 ℃. Let the buttercup absorb water in the wet stem for 3 days. In general, the root of the buttercup will be round in 3 days. If the perlite is too dry during this period, spray some water properly, but do not soak the buttercup with water.

3. Budding stage

Take the container out of the refrigerator and put it in an environment of 12-18 ℃ to promote germination. Central buds and white roots will grow in about 7 days. It can be planted, the white fibrous root should not exceed 1 cm, otherwise it is not easy to live when planting. In addition, in the process of sprouting, you can often check the ball, there are rotten parts need to be cleaned up in time, add some plant ash disinfection.

The treatment method of Ranunculus after anthesis

The first method of treatment: after the local upper part has completely withered, it is necessary to stop watering to make the potted soil drier, then move the flowerpot to a cool place, and put it in a place with strong air circulation, if placed outside, then pay attention to avoid Rain Water. Root lumps can be dug up and replanted between September and October. This method is very simple, but there is also a drawback, that is, it is easy to rot.

The second method of treatment: after flowering, the leaves will slowly yellowing, at this time the whole root block will be dug out directly, washed clean and then dried. Then store it in a sunless and dry environment. When planting is carried out in the autumn, during this period, there will be a lack of water and withered, do not worry.

Although the shape of buttercup is similar to that of peony, it is actually smaller than buttercup. When it blossoms, it is very beautiful. Its flowers are large and colorful. After learning the planting methods mentioned above, it is better to put a pot at home for viewing.
