Soil: Magnolia likes the soil rich in humus, which should have certain air permeability and water permeability. Lighting: it should be placed in a half-yin and half-yang environment. Temperature: dormancy begins below 5 ℃, and the suitable temperature in winter is 15-20 ℃. Watering: the magnolia has a certain degree of drought resistance, and the basin soil is dry and rewatered. Fertilization: mainly nitrogen fertilizer, no topdressing in winter and summer, and topdressing every other month in spring and autumn. Pruning: cut off excess arrows in summer. Pest control: mainly prevent scale insects and earthworms.

Cymbidium originated in Africa and was introduced and cultivated by China in recent years. It is a kind of high ornamental plant. At present, the gentleman orchid is very popular with consumers in the market, and many people choose it to breed at home. However, when breeding, some people will have some problems because of improper technology, so how should they breed in the end?

First, how to raise a gentleman's orchid

1. Soil is the most important part of plant survival. Cymbidium likes the soil rich in humus, which is very fertile, and has good air permeability and water permeability, so it is suitable for the breathing of the root of Cymbidium.

2. Mixing some fine sand and gravel into the configured soil is beneficial to the root of the gentleman orchid, but the sand and gravel is not too much, about 50% is enough.

3. The most suitable lighting condition of Cymbidium is half-yin and half-sun, to build a shade for orchid, preferably a sunshade with holes, which can not only block the sun, but also give sunshine to the orchid. In addition, if there is shade, grape trellis and so on, it would be more perfect to place the orchid under the shade or grape trellis.

2. Culture methods of Cymbidium

1. Cymbidium begins to dormancy and stop growing below 5 ℃, so the suitable temperature for growth in winter is 15 ℃ 20 ℃, and it is best not lower than 10 ℃. The temperature should be kept at about 18 ℃ after scurrying, and the temperature difference between day and night should be about 10 ℃, otherwise the flower arrow will blossom if it does not reach a proper height, and it is easy to form a "sandwiched arrow".

2. Water is also an indispensable part of plant growth. Cymbidium has well-developed fleshy roots, can store more water and has a certain degree of drought resistance, so it should not be watered too frequently and can be rewatered on the surface of the basin soil.

3. The correct fertilization posture of Magnolia should be to apply fermented solid fertilizer every other month in spring and autumn, and to apply liquid fertilizer once a week, mainly nitrogen fertilizer, and it is best not to topdressing in winter and summer, or to apply solid fertilizer once to the orchid in winter, less nitrogen fertilizer and more phosphate and potash fertilizer.

III. Matters needing attention in the cultivation of Cymbidium

1. In summer, we must pay attention to cutting off redundant flowers and arrows. The normal flowering period of gentleman orchids is from New Year's Day to the Spring Festival. If the arrows are not cut off in summer, they will consume nutrients and affect the normal growth and flowering in winter and spring.

2. We can first store the cold water indoors for 1-2 days to precipitate or evaporate the harmful substances in the water and leave enough time for the cold water to heat up.

Fourth, what if the leaves of Cymbidium turn yellow

1. The whole leaf turns yellow

(1) when the whole leaves of Cymbidium turn yellow, it will not only affect the viewing of Cymbidium, but also disadvantageous to the growth of Cymbidium.

(2) at this time, the yellow leaves should be cut off and the magnolia should be shaded to alleviate the yellowing of the leaves.

2. Local leaf yellow

(1) the partial leaf yellow of Cymbidium is mostly due to improper daily maintenance. to sum up, it is necessary to do a good job of daily maintenance.

(2) do a good job of water and fertilizer management, reasonable watering and fertilization, avoid basin soil too wet or thick fertilizer to burn roots, so that the leaves of Cymbidium are yellow.

(3) We should also pay attention to ventilating the orchid regularly, make it grow in a good ventilated environment, and pay attention to the choice of soil.

5. Common insect pests and their control in Cymbidium

1. Scale insects

Scale insects should give priority to prevention, usually pay attention to observe the plant body, once pests are found, deal with them as soon as possible. When the disease occurs, it can be treated manually and comprehensively with drugs. When there are bugs in the leaves, scrape them directly, or remove them with a thin bamboo stick. If there are a large number of bugs, it can be sprayed with 2-imidophos emulsion without solution, or omethoate emulsion, which can be killed by spraying 1 or 2 times.

2. Earthworms

Usually there are no earthworms in the soil, but it should be observed frequently that if round soil particles appear on the surface of the basin soil, they should be immediately watered with dichlorvos emulsion. After watering, the earthworms are drilled and removed immediately. Repeat the above steps a week later, and they can be eradicated.

Gentleman orchid in breeding must pay attention to the proportion of soil, and then do a good job of light and temperature control, it should not be exposed to strong light for a long time, so we must do a good shading treatment. When the gentleman orchid is cultivated, it may also cause the phenomenon of leaf rhubarb. If you want to solve it, you must find out the cause from the root, and then treat it.
