African chrysanthemum is a kind of chrysanthemum, which is widely distributed in China at present. It is a kind of ornamental plant whose flowers are common in bright red and attract people's attention. Nowadays, there are also a lot of people growing African chrysanthemum, and the longest one is the seed planting method, so what are the planting skills?

How to sprout gerbera seeds

1. Select gerbera seeds with high quality and full grains.

2. Choose the land with flat terrain, plenty of sunshine and fertile soil to sow and raise seedlings.

3. Soil preparation, weeding, fertilization and watering ahead of time.

4. The sowing depth should be kept at about 2 cm.

5. 20-25 ℃ is the temperature at which seeds are easy to germinate. At this temperature, it usually germinates 3-7 days after sowing.

Seed planting methods and points for attention of Gerbera jamesonii

1. Planting methods:

1. Potted soil: sunflowers are not picky about the soil and are resistant to barren, so the soil for sunflowers can be relatively free. if there are conditions, loose and fertile soil is the best.

2. Time: generally speaking, seeds can be sowed in spring, summer and autumn, and in most cases they can be sown in spring. Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai can start sowing around mid-April, and flower friends in the south or north can adjust the time accordingly. Generally speaking, they can sow seeds when the average minimum temperature is about 18 ℃.

3. Sowing: sow sunflower seeds evenly on the surface of the soil, and then cover a thin layer of fine soil. There is no need to bury them deeply. After sowing, those with spray pots can be gently sprayed on the surface. Remember not to flush the seeds out. Other methods are also fine. It doesn't matter, as long as you don't flush the seeds out.

4. Film mulching: if the temperature is not very high when sowing, you can put a transparent plastic bag or plastic film on the flowerpot, which helps to create an environment of high temperature and humidity to help sprout.

2. points for attention:

1. Gerbera jamesonii is sensitive to temperature and light intensity. In summer, it is necessary to keep the soil moist and free from drought, cover the shading net with 50% light transmittance, and spray to the leaf surface to increase air humidity and reduce temperature.

2. In winter, the work of keeping warm should be fully done, and the temperature should not be lower than 10 ℃ at night and no less than 15 ℃ during the day, which are very beneficial to improve the freshness of gerbera.

Management of flowering stage of African Chrysanthemum

The flowering stage will enter in about 3-4 months. N:P:K=12:12:17 compound fertilizer was applied every other week. Foliar spraying micro-fertilizer, usually once every 25 days, was alternately sprayed with 0.1-0.2% Ca (NO3) 2.4 H2O 0.1-0.2% chelated iron, 0.1-0.2% borax and 5-10ppm sodium molybdate.

2. Drip irrigation is used for watering. The principle of watering is "no dry, no watering, then watering thoroughly". Never water from the leaves. The relative humidity in the shed is kept at 80% Mel 85%.

3. Pull up the grass in time, remove the diseased leaves and withered leaves, pull out the diseased plants and disinfect the soil with quicklime; in summer flowering, pay attention to shading and ventilation to cool down, and in winter flowering, pay attention to heat preservation and heating, especially to prevent the temperature difference between day and night from being too large to reduce the production of abnormal flowers.

Diseases and control of Gerbera jamesonii

1. Spot disease. Spot disease is a bacterial disease. It is usually spread by germs with the help of Rain Water and insects. The occurrence of spot disease requires timely removal of diseased leaves and spraying the solution of methyl topiramate wettable powder for treatment.

2. Mosaic disease. African chrysanthemum can also suffer from mosaic disease, which can cause the leaves of African chrysanthemum to fade green, deformed leaves, grow patches, and affect flowering or plant death. The occurrence of mosaic disease requires timely spraying.

3. Powdery mildew. The outbreak of powdery mildew in African chrysanthemum is mainly harmful to the leaves, showing white spots and gradually expanding. Powdery mildew of African chrysanthemum is mostly caused by germs and is easy to break out when the temperature is high and the ventilation is poor. The occurrence of powdery mildew requires timely improvement of the growth environment and spraying agents, such as 1500 times of thiophanate methyl.

If African chrysanthemum wants seeds to germinate quickly, it must meet the conditions for seed germination. generally, it starts from seed selection and needs to be maintained after termination, especially when it enters the flowering stage, it is very easy to produce abnormal flowers due to improper cultivation, so efforts should be made in management.
