The consumption of red jujube is very extensive in our country, whether it is fresh jujube directly eaten raw, or dried red jujube making tea or soup, are very popular, red jujube is a good product for tonifying blood, so the demand for red jujube is generally relatively large, so it is not very difficult to plant red jujube in sales, the focus is on the quality of red jujube output.

How to plant jujube seedlings

Jujube tree planting is the same as other fruit trees, it is appropriate to plant large holes, the width and depth of the holes can not be less than 70 cm, or square or round. When digging a fixed planting hole, the topsoil and subsoil should be stacked separately, and the bottom of the hole should be flat to avoid the shape of the pot bottom to prevent the nest root. About 30kg of organic fertilizer is applied in each hole, which is mixed with topsoil and filled into the hole to make it into a mound with high middle and low surrounding. The seedlings are then implanted to stretch the roots and finally fill in the remaining topsoil. When filling the soil, gently lift the seedlings upward and put the subsoil on the upper layer to facilitate the wind and sun exposure and accelerate ripening. At the same time, we should pay attention to steadiness so that the root system is in close contact with the soil.

The soil should not be buried too deep or too shallow. If the buried soil is too deep, the ground temperature in the lower part of the hole is low, which is not conducive to root development; if the buried soil is too shallow, the root system is easy to be exposed, hindering survival, and is not conducive to drought resistance of seedlings. When operating, it is better to be the same as the original depth. The excess soil can be used as a tree plate so that it can be irrigated and settled in time, so that the roots can be closely connected with the soil. After irrigation seeps, it can cover loose soil and cultivate into a mound shape to maintain moisture and prevent seedlings from shaking, which is conducive to survival.

If it is found that the seedling loses water before planting, the root system of the seedling can be soaked in water for one day to make it absorb enough water before planting. In the experiment of Yangqu County Forestry Bureau of Shanxi Province, when planting, soaking the roots of seedlings with 0.1% concentration of naphthylacetic acid or indolebutyric acid, or 0.05% concentration of rooting powder for 5 seconds could significantly improve the survival rate and promote the growth of roots and aboveground parts. Recently, after planting jujube trees in some areas, they immediately covered the planting hole with a plastic film of about 1 square meter, sprinkled fine soil on it, compacted around it, leaving no gaps to prevent air leakage and being blown away by the wind. In this way, it can keep moisture and increase temperature, is conducive to root wound healing, and can greatly improve the survival rate.

Planting methods and matters needing attention of jujube seedlings

The main results are as follows: 1. Garden selection: jujube has strong adaptability and lax requirements on soil conditions, so wasteland and saline-alkali land can be fully utilized for cultivation. However, in order to achieve higher economic benefits and produce high-quality and pollution-free products, we should try our best to choose the environment such as air, water source and soil without pollution, flat and open terrain, good drainage conditions, strong soil permeability and good aeration performance. the groundwater level is higher and the garden land with fertile soil is better. When planting jujube trees in mountainous and hilly areas, sunny slopes with deep soil layers should be selected, while shady slopes should not be planted.

2. Planting varieties: there are many varieties of jujube, and a high-quality variety must have good tree potential, strong resistance to diseases and insect pests, crack resistance, good fruit shape, good fruit color, high nutrient content and good taste. At present, the excellent varieties used for drying are Jinsifeng, Jinsi honey, seedless red, seedless No. 1, seedless No. 3, Zanhuang jujube and so on. Among the precocious varieties, the excellent varieties used for fresh food are Zaocuiwang, Jingwei fresh jujube, early maturing pear jujube and so on, and the excellent varieties used for processing are pear jujube, Zanhuang jujube and so on. Late-maturing varieties are mainly used for fresh food, high-quality varieties are Jingwei Daxue jujube, winter jujube and so on. New and special varieties, there are fruit shape peculiar Mopan jujube, gourd jujube, tree-shaped peculiar feili red, Longxu jujube and so on.

3. Cultivation mode: first, dwarfing and dense planting, which is mainly suitable for varieties with early fruit and small tree type, and the suitable row spacing is 2 m × 3 m or 3 m × 2 m. The second is intercropping cultivation, which is mainly suitable for varieties with medium or large tree type and late fruit, with row spacing of 8m to 10m. The distance between plants is 3 to 5 meters. Other crops can be planted among trees in the early stage.

4. Cultivation time: jujube can be cultivated in the whole dormancy period from defoliation to germination in the next year, which can be divided into spring planting and autumn planting. According to years of cultivation experience, if 2-year-old and more than 2-year-old root tiller seedlings are planted and immediately watered in spring, the survival rate can easily reach more than 90%, while the survival rate of autumn planting can hardly reach more than 90% even after planting. However, the survival rate of autumn planting can reach more than 70% even without watering, while the survival rate of spring planting without watering is obviously lower than that of autumn planting.

Growth habits of jujube

Jujube, which grows in mountains, hills or plains below 1700 meters above sea level, belongs to temperature-loving fruit trees. the average annual temperature in the producing area is about 15 ℃, the temperature in budding stage is 13-15 ℃, the temperature in leaf-spreading stage is 17 ℃, the temperature in flowering and fruiting stage is 22-25 ℃, and the temperature in fruit ripening stage is 18-22 ℃. Jujube has strong tolerance to drought and waterlogging, but it requires higher air humidity at flowering stage, otherwise it is disadvantageous to pollinate and set fruit. In addition, jujube has strong light preference, sensitive to light, strong adaptability to soil, barren and saline-alkali tolerance. But afraid of the wind, so we should pay attention to avoid the tuyere in the process of building the garden.

Jujube trees are planted for several years before they bear fruit.

Jujube seedlings usually bear fruit in the second year after planting. As the saying goes, "Peach, plum, four pear for five years, walnut and persimmon for six or seven years, mulberry can feed silkworms in seven years, and jujube trees can be sold for money." It means that the fruiting period of jujube is short.

The planting technology of red jujube seedlings is described in detail in the article. Red jujube is basically regarded as the shortest investment return period among all fruit trees, because generally red jujube trees can bear fruit in the same year. So it is also a good choice to plant red jujube if you want to get a return in a short period of time.
