Leaves alternate, leathery, long elliptic, leaves smooth green, leaves with silvery fine granular scales hairy, entire margin. The flowers are large and can be sown every year, preferably in spring.

2, fertilization: fruit trees should focus on fertilizer once a year, namely spring bud fertilizer, summer fruit expansion fertilizer and pre-harvest fertilizer, especially to apply good fruit expansion fertilizer. After picking fruit, apply organic fertilizer deeply once.

3. Planting: When the seedling height is 30-40 cm, it can be planted, the plant spacing is 3 m x 5 m, and organic fertilizer, soil fertilizer and appropriate lime are applied as base fertilizer. Planting can be done throughout the year, preferably with soil.

II. Durian planting methods and precautions

1. Sowing

Durian can be sown every year, preferably in spring. Sowing plant spacing of 20 cm x 20 cm is appropriate. During seedling growth period, attention should be paid to weeding, combined with fertilization, to promote seedling growth. Excellent mother plants can be propagated by air layering, and it is easy to take root. It takes only 60-70 days from the circle branch to the seedling.

2. Seedling planting

When the seedlings are 30-40 cm high, they can be planted. The plant spacing is 3 m x 5 m. Organic fertilizer, soil fertilizer and proper lime are applied as base fertilizer. They can be planted all year round. It is better to plant with soil.

3. Fertilization management

Durian tree should be applied with fertilizer once a year, that is, spring bud fertilizer, summer fruit expansion fertilizer and pre-harvest fertilizer, especially fruit expansion fertilizer. After picking fruit, apply organic fertilizer deeply once.

4. Shaping and pruning

Durian tree because of strong germination, 1-2 years after planting to pay attention to shaping, fruit picking after timely pruning, in order to maintain a good tree shape.

5. Harvest fruit

Durian fruit is ripe when it turns orange-yellow or orange-red and can be harvested. After harvest fruit can not be eaten directly, after 4-7 days ripe look forward to soft flesh can be eaten.

It is cultivated in Hainan, Guangdong Province, China.

4. Durian growth habits

1. Durian belongs to pure tropical crops. The phenological characteristics of durian grow at an average daily temperature of more than 22℃.

Durian is a persimmon plant, the tallest fruit tree in the tropics, with a trunk as high as 25 to 40 meters. A tree can produce eighty durians a year. Durian can ripen in ten days after it is picked from the tree.

There are 200 varieties of durian in Thailand, but there are 60 to 80 species commonly cultivated. Three of the most famous are:

(1) Light species include Iluan, Jiaolun Tong, Chun Fu Shi, Jin Zhen and Chani. They bear fruit after four or five years.

(2) Medium species have long stalks and valleys, bearing fruit in six to eight years.

(3) Heavy species are Gambon and Ina, with eight-year results. They bear fruit once a year and mature one or two months apart.

Durian planting is a very important element of climate conditions, durian price is expensive mainly because it is difficult to plant in other areas, so we must adjust to local conditions before deciding to plant a plant, to make sure that the local environment is really suitable for the growth of a certain plant.
