The virgin fruit must be no stranger to many people, and we can often see it in our life. Virgin fruit is very popular with consumers because of its high edible value and good taste. Now there are many people who want to plant virgin fruit, but before planting it, what we most want to know is its planting time.

When will the virgin fruit be planted?

1. Spring sowing: the seedlings were raised in hot line and small shed in December, planted in the field after plastic film mulching in late March, and harvested from late May to late July. Select early-maturing and high-yielding varieties such as four Seasons Red and Saint Girl.

2. Autumn sowing: sowing and raising seedlings in late June, the seedlings can be raised in a nutrition bowl, planted in late July, harvested from late September to before frost, and Siji red varieties can be selected.

Is the virgin fruit a fruit?

Virgin fruit can be eaten as fruit. It can also be eaten as a vegetable. Virgin fruit, also known as small tomato, is an annual herb, belongs to the tomato genus of Solanaceae, the highest plant can grow up to 2 meters. It can be cultivated all the year round in our country. It's just that there is only one season a year in the north, and the rest of the time it is planted in the greenhouse, which is very different in taste compared with open field cultivation.

In South China, cherry tomatoes can be grown in the open field with pure taste from July or August to February of the following year because of the suitable climate.

Planting method of virgin fruit

1. Prepare the seedbed. The nursery bed should be sheltered from the wind and sunny, with good drainage. The field needs a seedling bed of 6-7 square meters, a seedling bed of 35-40 square meters, and 1500 kilograms of rotten human feces and urine on the bottom soil of the seedling bed, which is covered with 8 cm thick nutrient soil.

2. Nutritious soil. Use fully mature organic fertilizer and half of fertile soil that has not planted eggplant crops, mix well and sift 7-10 days before sowing, apply 5 kg calcium superphosphate, spray carbendazim to disinfect the soil, pile it up and set aside.

3. Soaking seeds to accelerate germination. 667 square meters with 20 grams of seed, soaked in 1000 times potassium permanganate solution for 10 minutes, rinsed with clean water and soaked in warm water for 6 hours, washed seeds, swung dry water, moisturized with wet gauze cloth, germinated at about 25 ℃, sowed seeds after dew.

4. Planting. Dig a small hole 1 cm deep in the soil, put the germinated seeds in, cover it with 0.5 to 1 cm of loose soil, and maintain the temperature at about 25 degrees. This soil had better be watered the day before. The soil should be watered before the seedling arch to keep the soil moist. After three to four days, two cotyledons of the seed will emerge from the soil. Then the temperature remains the same during the day and drops to about 20 degrees at night, waiting for the number of leaves to increase to four or five. After watering, it needs to be "dry and wet", that is to say, after the soil is dry, it should be watered thoroughly. After each watering, a small hook can be used to loosen the soil about 5 cm deep.

5. Transplant. The seedlings are ready for transplanting after they have grown 4 Mel 5 leaves. Dig out the seedling soil from the original small pot, dig a hole in the big flowerpot, put the whole small soil into it, and pour it thoroughly. Transplanting can make the seedlings lose their roots and grow again, so that the crops will grow better. In principle, there is no watering or topdressing after transplanting, but it should also be based on the actual situation. If the soil is too dry, it should be supplemented appropriately.

Common Diseases and Control of Virgin Fruit

1. The main insect pests are cotton bollworm and aphids. Helicoverpa armigera should be sprayed with insecticide + new high-fat membrane solution every 5-7 days during flowering and applied frequently. Aphids can be killed by spraying with aldicarb, imidacloprid and other agents plus new high lipid membrane solution.

2. Leaf mold. 70% mancozeb wettable powder or 50% Sukeling wettable powder + 800 times diluent of new high lipid membrane can be sprayed before and after the attack, once every 7 days, 3 times continuously.

3.Botrytis cinerea. During the flowering period, 50% Sukeling wettable powder or 50% prohydantoin wettable powder plus 800 times of new high lipid film can be added to the flower liquid, and the effect is very good. Can also be sprayed on the fruit, can be sprayed, or pay attention to the rotation of drugs to prevent bacteria from producing drug resistance.

Virgin fruit is a combination of vegetables and fruits, generally can be sown in spring and autumn, in planting time to do a good job of site selection, and then timely sowing. After planting, it is necessary to strengthen management, especially the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests, so as to ensure the growth of virgin fruit.
