Bamboo must be no stranger to many people. It is a famous tree species in our country. Bamboo is of high value. It can be used to make many things. It is also the main food for pandas. Nowadays, there are also a lot of people growing bamboo, but when planting, there are also a lot of things that need everyone's attention.

How to grow bamboo

1. Scientific planting: according to the fact that bamboo likes a warm and humid climate, loam or sandy loam is the best soil for planting. Sticky weight or on the basis of sufficient base fertilizer (mainly organic fertilizer, about 4 cubic meters per mu), ploughing, the depth is not less than 40 cm.

2. Bamboo moving method (split planting): select the vigorous growing 1-2-year-old bamboo rod, pick up the soil at the periphery of 25 cm ~ 30 cm away from the pole, find out the handle, and then cut off the handle with a sharp chisel and dig it up with soil. Small bamboos can be dug up in clumps of 3-5 culms, leaving 2-3 plates of branches, cut obliquely from internodes, and then planted in holes that have already been dug.

Bamboo planting methods and matters needing attention

1. Planting methods:

1. Loam or sandy loam is the best soil at the planting site. If the soil is too sticky or pure sandy, it is necessary to improve the soil. On the basis of applying sufficient base fertilizer (mainly organic fertilizer, about 4 cubic meters per mu of land), ploughing should be carried out at a depth of not less than 40 cm.

2. Most of the bamboos planted in the north of China are scattered bamboos, and the method of moving bamboo or whip is generally adopted. No matter which method is used, bamboo whips with strong growth, no diseases and insect pests, fresh yellow bamboo whips and full bamboo buds should be selected for 1 to 2 years. Bamboo must also be moved with underground bamboo whips, otherwise it will be difficult to survive.

3. The planting season is the best in late spring and early summer. If it is too early, it will affect survival because of drought and little rain, dry climate and windy weather; if bamboo is planted too late and has already entered the fast-growing period, too much root damage is not good for survival. If the local seedling source is used, it can also be transplanted in rainy summer, but it must be brought with tuo.

4. The depth of planting should be determined according to the clay degree of the soil, generally 20 to 25 cm. If the bamboo shoots are too deep, it is difficult to break the soil, and if the bamboo shoots are too shallow, they are thin and weak. According to the bamboo whip length (usually 40 to 50 cm), dig a growing hole, bury it into the bamboo whip, cover the soil firmly, and pour enough water.

2. points for attention:

When transplanting bamboo, there is the phenomenon of "false death". In the case of improper management, the bamboo leaves can fall off partly or completely. However, as long as the branches always keep bright green and pay attention to moisturizing, they can sprout and spread leaves again.

Nursery Management after Bamboo planting

1. Sprinkle water. Immediately after sowing and covering the grass, sprinkle water to keep the soil moist. When the soil is short of water, the soil moisture should be sprinkled in time, which is an important link to ensure the emergence of seeds.

2. To build a shade shed, when more than 50% of the bamboo seedlings are unearthed, the shade shed should be set up in time to remove the cover grass. The initial transmittance of the shade shed is 40%, and with the increase of the number of tillers of bamboo seedlings, the transmittance can be expanded to 60%. Demolish the shade shed after autumn.

3. After weeding, soil cultivation and bamboo seedlings are unearthed, the weeds in the seedling bed should be removed in time, the bare seeds washed by water should be cultivated in time, and water should be sprinkled in time after weeding, so as to facilitate the close connection between bamboo seedlings and soil.

Common diseases and insect pests of bamboo and their control

1. Bamboo aphid is one of the main pests of bamboo, and the annual peak is from August to October in the north. It can be sprayed with 1000 times of 50% zinc parathion and 50% centipede pine. In addition, there are pests such as whitefly, which should be prevented and controlled in time.

2. Bamboo leaf coal fouling disease is one of the bamboo leaf diseases, which is mostly caused by bamboo worms. it is easy to occur under the condition of high temperature, humidity and poor ventilation. In addition to strengthening the management of bamboo garden and improving the bad environmental conditions, the elimination of bamboo aphid is the fundamental measure to control coal pollution disease.

When planting bamboo, we must do the site selection work, and then plant it at the right time. After planting, we need to strengthen management, timely shading, weeding, insecticidal and so on are the inevitable factors to ensure its growth. Only when the work is done well, can the planted bamboo grow healthily.
