Seed planting method of muskmelon

Planting methods of muskmelon seeds

2. Seed drying: on a sunny day, spread the selected seeds evenly on paper or straw mats and let them bask in the sun for a period of time. In order to ensure that the seeds are exposed to the sun, turn them every once in a while.

3. Disinfection: put the dried seeds in 55-60 ℃ hot water and stir the water gently in the same direction with your hands or other tools. If the water temperature becomes low, you need to add new hot water. Make sure that the water temperature of soaking seeds is between 55-60 ℃, and remove the seeds after half an hour to drain water.

4. Seed soaking: put the seeds after disinfection and drain into a container, pour 20-30 ℃ warm water into the container, soak the seeds for about 5-6 hours, then pour them into a larger container, rub the mucus off the seeds, and then wash them clean after scrubbing.

5, sprouting: after soaking, the seeds dry the surface water, wrap them in a wet cotton cloth, then put them in a plastic bag and put them in a place with a temperature of about 25-35 ℃. When the radicle of the seeds grows to about 1-2mm, they can be sown.

6. Raising seedlings: the seeds that promote sprouting are put every 2 of them in the soil nutrition bowl containing nutrition, and then sowed into the planted fruit field to raise seedlings with plastic film mulching. Growth habits of muskmelon

1. Soil: deep soil layer, rich in organic matter, fertile and permeable loam or sandy loam is the most suitable soil for the growth and development of muskmelon. Generally, the soil with solid phase, gas phase and liquid phase accounting for 1 × 3 each is the best.

2. Humidity: melons can resist drought but not waterlogging, so watering should not be too much when planting. If too much rain causes too much stagnant water, it should be eliminated in time. Their roots are very shallow and require high soil moisture for growth. The humidity requirement in the air is not very high, and the general air relative humidity should be controlled at about 50%.

3. Temperature: 18-25 ℃ is suitable for muskmelon growth and development, 22-25 ℃ is suitable for their flowering and fruiting, their adaptability to environment is strong, and their ability of timidity and resistance to low temperature is also better.

4. Lighting: growing melons requires plenty of sunshine, with at least 10-12 hours of sunshine every day. If the sunshine time can be maintained at 14-15 hours per day for a long time, then the growth rate and quality of muskmelons will be better.
