Buy 2-3 year saplings with strong adaptability, choose clay basin or clay basin, purple sand basin, plastic basin with strong permeability and suitable size, etc., the soil pH value of blueberry planting should be between 4 and 5, if it does not meet the requirements, it can be adjusted by some methods. After the blueberry seedlings are set in the basin, slow the seedlings in the ventilated room without direct sunlight for a week and then take them out to ensure adequate light, water and cold storage, timely topdressing, pruning and shaping.

1. Buy blueberry seedlings

It is best to buy seedlings for 2-3 years, which is cheap and adaptable, easy to plant and high survival rate.

2. Flowerpot selection

Had better choose the mud basin with strong air permeability, and the price is cheaper, but the mud basin is black, the appearance is not very good-looking; you can also choose pottery basin, purple sand basin and plastic basin, do not use glazed porcelain basin. The size of the basin should be appropriate, do not use a large basin, generally plant 2-3 years of seedlings, the diameter of the basin can be controlled at about 25-30cm, wait for the seedlings to grow up and then replace the appropriate large basin, if the planting is 4-5 years of mature blueberry trees, then the size of the basin can choose a little larger.

3. Soil requirements

The soil growing blueberry requires acidity, and the pH value of the soil should be controlled between 4 and 5, but the pH value of the general pastoral soil is 6-7, and the PH value of the acidic soil sold in the flower-and-bird market is also between 5.5-6. The following methods can be taken to adjust the soil PH value.

First, choose imported peat, whose PH value is generally about 3.5-4. Mix peat, coarse sand, pastoral soil and rotten leaf soil according to the ratio of 2.5, 2.5, 2.5 and 2.5 to cultivate the medium.

Second, the cultivated soil is composed of pastoral soil, coarse sand and rotten leaf soil according to the proportion of 4:3:3. If 1g sulfur powder is added to each liter of cultivated soil, the PH value of soil will change to 5.08. at this time, 1.5g sulfur powder will be added to each liter of cultivated soil, and the PH value of soil will reach 4.48after half a year, and then 2g sulfur powder will be added to every liter of cultivated soil. After half a year, the pH value of the soil will reach 4.21, and the specific amount of sulfur powder should be adjusted according to the PH value of the local garden soil.

Third, the direct use of acidity suitable for blueberry growth of mature pine needle soil, this kind of soil has good air permeability, and the nutrition in the soil is moderate, but they are relatively loose, plants will be a little difficult to fix.

The coarse sand particles to be added in the first two methods are essential. The purpose of adding coarse sand particles to the soil is to enhance the air permeability and water permeability of the medium. Coarse sand grains are the thicker sand grains left after sieving yellow sand. Vermiculite can also be used if it is difficult to find.

4. Daily matters needing attention

After setting the value in the basin, the blueberry saplings should be slowed down in a ventilated room without direct sunlight for a week, and then they can be moved to the balcony for normal planting and maintenance. Blueberries like wet soil and should be watered every day when the summer weather is hot, but don't water too much, lest it cause stagnant water and cause blueberry roots to rot.

The growth of blueberries needs plenty of light, as long as there is enough water, even the 40 ℃ sun in summer will not die. They can endure 40-50 ℃ during the growing period, but without light, the growth of blueberries will slow down or even stop, and even blossom will not bear fruit.

Blueberries need a certain amount of cold storage. If blueberries want to blossom and bear fruit normally, they must grow in the environment below 7.2 ℃ for a certain period of time. The specific time varies according to different varieties. If the cold storage capacity is not enough, blueberries will only blossom and not bear fruit. If blueberries are planted in Jiangnan of our country, they can grow directly on the balcony in winter, but Hainan is not suitable for growing blueberries.

5. Fertilization

When planting blueberries, the soil can not be too fertile, as long as there is a certain amount of rotten leaf soil in the soil medium to meet their growth needs. If blueberries are planted on the balcony and want to eat blueberry fruit, they should be fertilized regularly when planting blueberries. Generally, the milder "Hua Duoduo" is applied once a week, with a ratio of 1 gram of water to 1000 g of fertilizer.

March to October is the rapid growth period of blueberries, during this period, it is necessary to sprinkle fertilizer and water, and potted blueberries should remove some buds.

6. Pruning

Blueberries bloom from March to April, and their flowers are white and shaped like bells. In order to ensure adequate nutrition in the potted soil and promote blueberry fruit, some flowers should be thinned out. When April-May, blueberry trees will begin to bear fruit one after another. At this time, the debt of the dried and stunted fruit on the tree needs to be removed. The fruit ripens in mid-June. Blueberries first turn fuchsia and then blue. After 10 days, their stalks turn purple and can be picked and eaten.
