1. Seedling preparation

2. Potting time

3. Styling pruning

According to the growth characteristics of Hawthorn, the top of the young tree should be pruned to promote the growth and development of lateral branches. Hawthorn will enter the flower bud differentiation period from mid-July to August. At this time, Hawthorn can be ring-cut or ring-cut to promote flower bud differentiation. The combination of shearing and binding can be used to shape Hawthorn, but in the process of shearing and pruning, it is necessary to avoid breaking Hawthorn branches and remove the denser flowers and fruits in time to ensure that Hawthorn trees can bear fruit smoothly the following year.

4. Daily maintenance

Choose a place with plenty of light and air to plant Hawthorn bonsai, they do not have very high requirements for moisture, as long as you keep the basin soil moist, reduce the amount of water in autumn and less or no water in winter.

Appropriate fertilization, generally apply a certain amount of base fertilizer in winter, apply faint phosphorus and potassium fertilizer after flowering, and then apply appropriate amount of topdressing according to the growth of potted plants in autumn, remember not to apply nitrogen fertilizer to Hawthorn potted plants.
