Cultivation density of Peach trees

The cultivation of peach trees can be divided into spring planting and autumn planting, and the cultivation density can be adjusted according to the tree shape, if the tree shape is three main happy crowns, the plant row spacing is controlled at 3-5m and the planting density is controlled at 45 trees / mu; if the tree shape is Y-shaped, the plant row spacing is controlled at about 2-4m, and the planting density is controlled at about 84 plants / mu.

Distribution area of peach

Peach trees have strong vitality and strong ability to adapt to the environment. They are native to China and are now planted all over the world.

It is distributed in most parts of China, mainly in the provinces of North and East China, among which Haidian District of Beijing, Kaifeng, Qingdao, Shangshui of Henan, Funing, Zunhua, Shenxian, Linzhang, Baoji, Xi'an, Tianshui of Gansu, Chengdu of Sichuan, Dalian of Liaoning, Fenghua of Zhejiang, Nanhui of Shanghai, Wuxi and Xuzhou of Jiangsu are the most densely distributed.

Grafting time of peach trees

Peach grafting can be carried out from April to June every spring, when peach trees grow most vigorously, and the wounds of branches and rootstocks can heal quickly after grafting, which can increase the success rate of peach grafting and promote peach trees to grow vigorously in the later stage.

Grafting can also be carried out in late summer and early autumn from August to September, although the wound healing speed of grafting is not as fast as that of April-June, but the survival rate is still high, but the ambient temperature after grafting should be controlled at about 15-20 ℃ to avoid grafting failure.

Grafting method of peach tree

1. Select branches

From April to June every year, select the branches that can blossom, strong and free from diseases and insect pests, cut off all the leaves on the branches, and select rootstocks of the same family and genus as peach trees, so as to ensure that the branches and rootstocks are not mutually exclusive and promote wound healing.

2. Connect the rootstock

Cut the lower end of the peach branch into a flat shape with a knife, cut the rootstock into a 3-5cm hole, then insert the branch into the opening of the rootstock, fix the branch and the rootstock with a plastic bag or rope, put it in a cool place and keep the air dry, it can take root in about 15 days, and the plastic bag or rope at the connection between the rootstock and the branch can be removed in about 3 months. Peach branches will grow crazily after survival, so it is necessary to prune the main branches in time to control their growth and prevent them from being blown off by the wind.
