Environment: 18-25℃ is suitable for its growth, and cold protection treatment should be done below 12℃, which is suitable for cultivation in South China. Light: moderate shade, summer shade 50-60% sunlight, winter shade 20-30% sunlight. Change pots: 2-3 years of dancing orchid root system is too full to change pots in time. Management: regular watering, keep the soil moist, apply a small amount of slow release fertilizer as base fertilizer, etc. Diseases and pests: scale insects, soft rot and leaf spot disease and other diseases and pests.

1. Environmental requirements

Different varieties of dancing orchids have different requirements for the environment. Thick-leaf dancing orchids like to survive in warm environment. The optimum temperature for their growth is 18-25℃. If the temperature is lower than 12℃, they should be cold-proof and suitable for cultivation in South China. Thin-leaf dancing orchids like to live in cold environment, not resistant to high temperature, 10-22℃ is the optimum temperature for their growth, not suitable for planting in flat land, it is best to cultivate in cold areas at medium altitude, but in winter when the temperature is low, they should also be moved into the greenhouse for winter.

2. Light

When planting dancing orchids, moderate shading is required. Generally, 50-60% sunlight should be blocked in summer and 20-30% sunlight in winter. If the sunlight is too strong, it will slow down the growth speed of dancing orchids, make the plants short and cause sunburn, resulting in dry leaves and death. If there is too much shade, insufficient light will make the plant leaves grow poorly, flower bud differentiation will be affected, reduce the number of flowers, or even no flowers.

3. Cultivation substrate

Dance orchid most varieties are potted, moss, sawdust, charcoal, pearlite, peat soil can be used as potted plant material. 40% of fine fern root, 10% of peat soil, 220% of charcoal, 20% of pearlite or vermiculite, 10% of crushed stone and broken brick block are mixed well, and about 1/3 of crushed stone or broken brick is padded in the basin during planting for ventilation and drainage; plastic pots, plain burning pots, porcelain pots, etc. can be selected for flower pots. When planting, the bulbs of dancing orchids are exposed because they are aerial roots. If the bulbs are buried below, it is difficult to grow vigorously, and it will also affect the seedlings.

4. Change the basin

Planting 2-3 years of dancing orchid, the plant will gradually grow up and grow small plants, the root system is too full, affecting growth, so it is necessary to change pots in time. Generally, pot change is carried out after flowering; plants without flowering can be carried out before the growth period, such as when the weather becomes cool in early spring and autumn, the pot change should be carried out together with the cultivation substrate, and it can also be combined with ramets.

5. Daily management

Water regularly to keep the soil moist, and replenish water as soon as the cultivation substrate is dry. In winter, watering can be reduced to facilitate flowering, and when the temperature is lower than 10℃, stop watering. When the summer temperature is hot, it is necessary to spray water on the surrounding ground, flowerpots and plants to increase the humidity of the air so as not to affect its growth, and to place the dancing orchid in a ventilated place to avoid rot. A small amount of slow release fertilizer is applied as base fertilizer during planting, and then decomposed bean cake water, oil meal, bone meal, etc. are applied once a month. In the growth season of dancing orchid, spring and summer and early autumn, 1500-2000 times of liquid water-soluble quick-acting fertilizer is applied once every 2-3 weeks; when there is no flowering, compound fertilizer with balanced nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium is applied.

6, pest control

When planting, it is necessary to prevent dancing orchid from being harmed by scale insects, which parasitize on the edge of plant leaves to absorb juice, which will cause plant wilt, and when it is serious, the whole plant will wither and die; it can be sprayed with 10% omethoate emulsion 1000 times or 50% Marathon emulsifiable concentrate 200 times. The main diseases of dancing orchid are soft rot and leaf spot. Leaf spot will harm the leaves of dancing orchid, and soft rot will make the whole plant die. If the diseased plant is found, it can be controlled by 50% carbendazim 1000 times solution and 50% thiophanate-methyl soluble wet agent 800 times.
