What is a trigonous arrow?

The three-angled arrow, also known as Bawang flower, measuring ruler and so on, is an epiphytic climbing succulent plant of the cactus family. They have more branches, showing a triangular prism, and their edges are wide but thin, showing wavy edges; there are aerial roots on the stems, which can be attached to trees or walls.

The flowers of the three-rowed arrow are large, white, funnel-shaped, about 30cm, the outer petal is yellowish green, the inner petal is white, generally open at night, the florescence is May-September; the berries are oblong, about 10-12cm, red, fragrant and edible.

Three-rowed arrows are native to Mexico and the West Indies, and are also cultivated in other tropical and subtropical regions, as well as in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian and other places in China. The climate of its place of origin is warm all the year round, the rainfall is sufficient, the air humidity is high, sometimes there is a short dry period, they like to grow in a warm and humid semi-shady environment, if in direct sunlight, the plants will turn yellow, but there should be plenty of light in winter.

The Culture method of Trigonium Arrow

1. Cultivated soil

It is best to choose loose, fertile and humus-rich soil for planting three-rowed arrows. Pot soil can be mixed with 1 part of rotten leaf soil and 1 part of coarse sand and mixed with a small amount of mature chicken manure or cow manure.

2. Light and temperature

In summer, the three-angled arrow should be placed in a semi-overcast environment, and the temperature is relatively low in winter. If you want to put the three-sided arrow in a place with sufficient light, it is best to put it in a sunny place indoors. The temperature should be controlled above 10 ℃. If the temperature is lower than 10 ℃, the three-angled arrow is prone to frost injury.

3. Watering

In the process of planting trigonous arrows, do not water too much in spring, generally every 10-15 days, but spray water to the plants every day to increase air humidity; higher temperature in summer, watering once every morning or evening; to ensure that the basin soil is moderately dry in winter, plastic film can be used to cover the basin to ensure a smooth passage through the winter.

4. Pruning

In order to prevent the three-rowed arrow plant from aging prematurely and ensure its vigorous growth at the base, it should be pruned regularly, the old branches with less flowering should be cut off, and the weak buds should be removed to promote the full development, elongation and flowering of the terminal buds.
