Soil condition

Pomegranate is suitable for growing in soil with loose soil and good drainage. Although pomegranate trees do not have high requirements for soil, in order to make it grow better and increase yield, it is necessary to keep the soil around the roots of pomegranate trees loose. In order to loosen the soil quality, the planted soil should be deeply dug twice a year, the first time is after the autumn harvest season, it should be as early as possible, and the second time is before and after spring germination, which is suitable for shallow digging. You can also use the opportunity of weeding to loosen the soil after rain or watering.

The way of fertilizing

The ditch method is used to fertilize, but the ditch should keep a certain distance from the pomegranate tree. The amount of fertilizer should be determined according to the size of the pomegranate tree, generally speaking, each young tree needs 7.5-10 kg, the middle-aged tree needs about 25 kg, and the big tree needs 50 kg. The fertilizer is mainly organic fertilizer. It can be divided into two uses, the first time can be used before spring germination, the second time before the soil freezes in autumn, and the quick-acting fertilizer can be used once in the fruit expansion period after flower fade.

The season of watering

In a year, before budding and flowering, the rapid growth period of young fruit, and the three periods before soil freezing, the tree needs enough water, and timely watering is needed if there is a drought.

The harvest of pomegranate

The harvest time is determined by the maturity of pomegranate fruit. Fully mature pomegranate, its epidermis shows its inherent color, and the surface is smooth and transparent. For example, the skin of the white pomegranate variety is mainly light yellow, the whole skin of the red variety will be red, and the color is bright, while the green variety is green mixed with yellow, and the side of the sun is red.

Pomegranate harvest is usually divided into several batches, because the flowering time of pomegranate trees varies greatly, some earlier and some later, but they are generally harvested in batches from the first ten days of September, with the exception of early or late ripening. The harvest of pomegranate will also be affected by the weather. If it is ripe, it can be postponed appropriately when the weather is dry, and it can be brought forward on cloudy and rainy days.

Preservation method

The common preservation methods of pomegranate are film tent preservation method, indoor storage method, well kiln storage method, jar storage method and so on. But in recent years, in order to reduce the bad fruit rate of pomegranate and increase the preservation time, a fungicide-based preservative was developed, and then smeared on the fruit, combined with appropriate preservation methods, can greatly prolong the storage time of pomegranate.

Compared with other fruits, pomegranate is relatively easy to preserve. It can be preserved for a long time under the conditions of low temperature and humid air, some can be preserved around the Spring Festival, and some can be preserved until April-May of the following year. As long as the conditions are right, the longer it will be preserved.
