Soil: like fertile soil with good drainage. Watering: afraid of waterlogging and cold, should be watered appropriately. Lighting: like to grow in a well-lit environment, especially from autumn to the following spring. Fertilization: usually there is no special requirement, fertilizing 1-2 times a month during the peak growth period. Diseases and insect pests: actively prevent powdery mildew, virus diseases, red spiders and stinging geese.

1. Soil

Clematis like fertile, good drainage alkaline soil, it is best to choose the soil that can maintain normal growth moisture in summer, must not let the basin soil stagnant water.

2. Watering

Clematis is not cold-resistant and afraid of waterlogging. It will cause disease and death due to high temperature and humidity during the rainy season. Therefore, in the growing season, should be properly watered, but not too much, otherwise it is easy to lead to clematis root rot.

3. Lighting

Clematis likes to grow in a well-lit environment, and it should be placed in a place with very good light from autumn to the spring of the following year, and there is no need for shade, but after entering summer, due to too strong light and high temperature, long-term light will lead to clematis leaves aging and turn yellow.

4. Fertilization

Clematis does not have high requirements for fertilizer. During the period of vigorous growth, it can be fertilized about 1-2 times a month.

5. Pest prevention

Clematis seldom encounter insect pests during the growing period, because it has a strong ability to resist insect pests. But the inevitable diseases are: powdery mildew, virus disease and so on. Common diseases are only possible in summer when the branches wither due to the rapid rise of warm pests such as red spiders and stinging geese. When disease occurs, it can be sprayed with 1000 times of acetic acid solution of 10% antimicrobial agent; when insect pests occur, it can be sprayed with 1000 times of fenitrothion EC.

Propagation methods of Clematis

1. Sowing and reproduction

When sowing and breeding, you need to use the original seed, and you can choose to sow in spring and autumn when sowing and reproducing. If sown in spring, it can germinate 3-4 weeks after sowing; if sown in autumn, it will not germinate until the spring of the following year is warm.

2. Striping propagation

For striping propagation, you will probably choose to use more than one-year-old branches in the spring around March, which will probably take root within a year.

3. Cuttage propagation

For cuttage propagation, semi-mature Anoectochilus roxburghii branches are taken from July to August. It is better to have 2 buds on the internodes, and the medium used for cutting can be 50% peat and 50% sand. When inserting the pole, the depth is determined according to the bud on the node, and the bud needs to be exposed on the soil.
