Seed selection and sprouting: select high-quality varieties to soak seeds, and then put them in a 30 ℃ incubator to promote germination. Seedling sowing: sowing at the end of March after raising seedlings in greenhouse. Seedling management: control the temperature in the arch shed, between 28-35 ℃ during the day and more than 15 ℃ at night. Planting balsam pear: apply a certain amount of base fertilizer, make the flat bed and then water it. Field management: in the later stage, it is necessary to tie the vine on the shelf.

First, seed selection and budding

Planting balsam pear should choose varieties with good quality, high yield and strong disease resistance, then blanch the seeds in hot water of about 55 ℃ and stir, soak the seeds for 12 hours when the temperature drops to about 3 ℃, and then soak the seeds in a gap, so that the seeds can better absorb water, and then soak the seeds for about 8 hours.

Wash the soaked seeds out, wrap them with clean gauze, place them in an incubator of about 30 ℃, wash them with warm water once a day, and they will begin to germinate in about 5 days.

2. Raising seedlings and sowing seeds

To plant in the open field, seedlings should be raised in the greenhouse first, seedlings can be raised in fields that have not planted melons and fruits, dry human faeces and new peat are mixed according to the proportion of 1:1, and then 1000 grams of diammonium phosphate per cubic meter are filtered and mixed to form nutritious soil, which is loaded into the seedling border of 10cm length and width one day before sowing, and then watered thoroughly.

On the second day, the nutritious soil was sprayed again with water, and then the seeds were covered with a small mound around 1.5cm, and then sprinkled with a layer of filtered fine soil. The seeds were usually sown at the end of March or early April, and the seedling age was about 28-35 days. It could be planted in the open field without frost in the first ten days of May.

III. Seedling stage management

The temperature in the small arch shed should be controlled after sowing. Generally, the temperature should be kept between 28-35 ℃ during the day and above 15 ℃ at night. After the emergence rate reaches 50%, the covering film of the small arch shed should be removed in time, and then covered with fine soil filtered by 0.5cm to fill the cracks, which can better maintain the humidity in the soil.

At noon to give air and appropriate cooling, in the evening to cover the greenhouse film, in balsam pear seedlings out, the temperature during the day is about 18-25 ℃, the temperature at night is about 10 ℃, during the period the land is slightly dry will be watering, is conducive to the robust growth of seedlings, the later stage can gradually reduce the temperature in the greenhouse, in the first few days before planting to remove the greenhouse film, can improve the resistance of seedlings.

IV. Set up a frame with fertilization

Balsam pear is a relatively fertilizer-tolerant crop, which should be planted with a certain amount of base fertilizer, about 5000 kg of high-quality organic fertilizer per mu plus 30 kg of diammonium phosphate, and then watered, and then wait until the land is slightly dry and loose before making a border, a small high border with a width of 80-90cm and a high of 10-15cm, and covered with plastic film 5-7 days before planting.

Each border is generally two rows, the distance between each plant is about 60cm, but also line planting, digging holes can not be too deep, balsam pear growth is relatively fast, so in time to build a herringbone frame after planting, the seed amount is about 250-300g, planting about 1300-1600 plants per mu.

V. Field management

It is necessary to water the slow seedlings regularly after planting, and the branching ability of balsam pear plants is stronger. Generally, 2-4 thick vines are selected from the bottom, and then the vines are tied on the shelves, and the excess is removed, then there is no need to water balsam pear any more. But when the first melon grows up gradually, you can add 10-15 kg of urea or 20-25 kg of ammonium bicarbonate to water.
