Fertilization: fertilizing every 10 days in spring and autumn, stopping fertilization in summer, and proper topdressing in winter. Pest control: carbendazim can be used to control leaf rust and root rot if the humidity is too high. Propagation method: cuttage propagation or tuber propagation.

Culture method of tree radish

Tree radish, also known as lantern flower, belongs to epiphytic evergreen shrub, the leaf blade is oval and leathery, the upper part of the edge is small serrated and glabrous, the vein of the adaxial leaf is not obvious, the leaf surface is obvious, the petiole is microvillous, the flower grows alone in the leaf axil, the pedicel is gray pubescent, the white glandular pilose, the calyx is long 4mm, the calyx has bristles, can split into triangles, and the Corolla is cylindrical. Style slender, glabrous, fruit very small.

Flowerpot selection

Tree radish is an epiphytic plant, which can be cultivated artificially by imitating the wild environment, such as using wood or stone, or using highly breathable flowerpots, such as plastic pots, purple sand pots, tile pots and so on.

Cultivated soil

Tree radish likes the decaying medium with high humidity. The soil cultivated with tree radish must have strong moisture retention, strong air permeability and no stagnant water. If the artificial imitation of wild cultivation, tree radish can be attached to trees or stones, its roots covered with rotten bark, coconut shells or moss such as strong moisturizing substances, if planted in pots at home, you can choose to use granular soil, pine needles, humus soil, sand and other proportions mixed together, and then sprinkled with appropriate cake dregs and bone meal as base fertilizer.

Temperature and humidity

Tree radish likes to live in a warm and humid climate, it is cold-resistant and not resistant to high temperature, so it should be properly shaded in summer and maintained indoors in winter. You can bask in the sun more and the temperature is not lower than 10 ℃. The most suitable temperature for tree radish is 20 ℃-26 ℃ and humidity is 60% 80%. This temperature and humidity can make the tree radish grow healthily.

Watering method

Tree radish itself is relatively resistant to drought, but it likes to be in a humid environment, so it is necessary not to water when the soil surface is not dry. If it is dry, it is necessary to water thoroughly at once. It is also necessary to spray water on the leaf surface frequently to maintain the moist environment it needs. Those who imitate wild cultivation should spray water twice a day, and potted plants should spray water every two or three days in spring and autumn. Spray water every day in summer, but also pay attention to shading and ventilation, increase light in winter and reduce the number of water sprays.

Fertilization method

It is necessary to supplement nutrients in the process of tree radish growth. You can spray occasionally ripe cake fertilizer and water in spring and autumn, spray once every ten days, and stop spraying fertilizer in high temperature weather in summer. When the temperature is suitable in winter, you can apply fertilizer slightly.

Pest control

When planting tree radish, if the humidity is too high, stagnant water is easy to appear leaf rust, root rot and leaf spot disease and so on. Carbendazim and methyl thiophanate can be used for spraying, but there are few insect pests in tree radish. Only a few red spiders, longicorn beetles, scale insects and so on can be sprayed directly with insecticides. There must be no stagnant water in planting tree radish, and daily maintenance and management should be strengthened.

Reproduction method

Tree radish is easy to reproduce and has a high survival rate. It is generally propagated by cuttings and tubers. Cutting propagation can survive using both new and old branches. It is best to use branches that have grown for a year, which can be cut in spring and autumn. Cuttings should cut about 12cm, retain three leaf buds of branches, and cut into horseshoe shape in the lower part of the branches, which can increase the area of rooting. Keep the bed moist after cutting. after a month, the branches will begin to take root, and two months later they can be put on the pot.

Tuber propagation is to cut off the tubers with sprouting branches, then smear them with healing agent or plant ash, dry them a little, put them in a basin directly, and place them in a cool place after pouring fixed root water. after a week, the leaves begin to recover and survive and can be managed directly.
