Planting time and method of strawberry in open air

The soil with strong water conservation capacity, good fertilizer conservation, convenient drainage and irrigation, high soil fertility and slightly acidic soil should be selected for strawberry planting. Open-air planting of strawberries is the basic way of strawberry cultivation, and it is also the most common way of planting strawberries, mainly because of less capital, less labor cost and lower planting cost.

I. selection of sites

Strawberry planting should choose strong water conservation capacity, good fertilizer conservation, convenient drainage and irrigation, high soil fertility, no strawberry and eggplant crops, and the soil must be slightly acidic.

II. Land preparation and furrow

Soil preparation: before the soil for strawberry cultivation is repaired, the high-quality mature farm fertilizer 2000kg-3000kg should be applied per mu, and 3% Qiandihu granule 3kg should be added per mu, and mixed well with farm manure, and then scattered into the strawberry field that needs to be planted.

Ridge and furrow: with ploughing, most of the underground pests can be ploughed up, and then rotary ploughing will form a double furrow of 2.3m. The width of the single furrow is 1m, and the aisle of 30cm should be left between each furrow. The width of the furrow is 30cm and the depth is 30cm.

Third, planting time

1. Planting strawberries from late March to mid-April every year, if it exceeds the time for planting strawberries, it will affect the number of strawberry seedlings, planting a row in each furrow.

2. Before strawberry planting, spray with 600-800 times the concentration of 75% chlorothalonil to prevent a disease, remove the old leaves and excess inflorescences of strawberry seedlings, and finally retain three compound leaves of strawberries. Strawberries should be planted with the original soil to ensure that the roots of strawberries will not be damaged.

3. The depth of planting strawberries should be flat at the base of the strawberry heart leaves and the soil surface. Planting should be careful not to bury the strawberry heart into the soil, and the strawberry root should not be exposed to the soil surface. After planting, the soil should be pressed tightly. After planting, the root should be watered immediately, and the soil should be watered 2-3 times continuously to maintain the soil wettability, which is beneficial to the survival of strawberry seedlings. IV. Planting management

1. Fertilization

After the strawberry seedlings survived, urea 5kg should be applied per mu to accelerate the growth of strawberry seedlings. During the stolon occurrence period of strawberries, topdressing ternary compound fertilizer should be applied 1-2 times, the amount of ternary compound fertilizer per mu should be controlled at 5kg-8kg, and special attention should be paid not to excessive nitrogen fertilizer.

2. Pick the heart and leaves

After the strawberry seedling is planted, the inflorescences, old leaves and diseased leaves should be removed, and the inflorescence on the mother plant should be often removed to promote the concentration of strawberry nutrients. It can also make the strawberry plant ventilated and transparent, make the strawberry mother plant and daughter seedlings grow more healthily, and promote the mother plant to produce stolons.

5. Planting density

Each row of strawberry seedlings planted in each ridge and furrow can plant about 800,800-1000 strawberry seedlings per mu.
