Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Selecting suitable soil planting, properly improving soil fertility and structure, increasing the application of organic fertilizer can increase the sweetness of fruit, and timely flower and fruit thinning is beneficial to improve fruit quality. Ecological fruit planting patterns include mulch planting, grass planting, orchard interplanting and intercropping.

Choosing suitable soil for planting, improving soil fertility and structure properly, applying organic fertilizer can increase fruit sweetness, thinning flowers and fruits in time can improve fruit quality. Ecological fruit planting patterns include mulch planting, grass planting, orchard interplanting and intercropping, etc.

1. What are the ways to sweeten fruit?

1. Pastoral management: If you want to plant fruits sweet, you should first choose loose, deep and slightly acidic or neutral soil for planting. If you plant them in plots with heavy and acidic soil, the acidity of fruits will increase. To properly improve soil fertility and structure, deep ploughing after planting, so as to thicken the soil layer, about the living soil layer needs to be maintained at more than 60cm.

Fertilization: Organic fertilizer can be added, especially fully decomposed organic fertilizer, which can effectively improve the sugar content of fruits. Partial application of nitrogen fertilizer without phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, partial application of chemical fertilizer without cake fertilizer, green manure and organic fertilizer, and failure to increase a certain amount of micro-fertilizer in time are the reasons for low sugar content of fruits.

3. Shaping and pruning: timely thinning of flowers and fruits is conducive to the fruit quality, proper shaping and pruning are also conducive to the ventilation and light transmission of the tree body, so that it can be well illuminated, and a series of management measures are also helpful to improve the sugar content of the fruit.

II. What are the ecological fruit planting models

1. Cover planting

According to the principle of adjusting measures to local conditions, simple and easy to use and local materials, the ground is covered with weeds, leaves and straws.

2. Grass planting

Grass planting is different from mulch planting. Mulch planting is planting by using crop residues, while grass planting is an ecological planting measure based on rational utilization and protection of resources, such as perennial legumes and grasses planted in the rows of orchards for a long time as soil mulch.

Grassland can be divided into three types: whole garden grass, inter-row grass and inter-plant grass. Grassland can be divided into artificial planting and natural planting. For example, in the orange garden trial benign weed cover, in the tree plate long grass, tree plate can be removed in time to cover the grass in situ.

3. Orchard interplanting, intercropping

There are different forms of orchard interplanting and intercropping. The first is intercropping fruit trees and herbal crops, such as soybean, peanut, garlic, ryegrass, Chinese milk vetch, Stylosanthes and other herbal crops can be intercropped in orchards.

The second kind is fruit trees intercropped with woody crops. For example, crops with short fruiting years such as oranges and cherimoya can also be intercropped with crops with long fruiting years such as litchi and longan. The third kind is fruit trees and edible fungi interplanting, such as oyster mushrooms can be planted under grape trees or lychee trees.
