The planting time of patchouli can be sown from the end of March to mid-April in the north and from September to October in the south. The planting method of patchouli: you can choose strip sowing or sowing, replenish seedlings after sowing, water and fertilize according to the growth of seedlings, pay attention to the discharge of stagnant water in rainy days, pick tender stems and leaves from April to June, and harvest in full bloom from July to August.

1. Planting time of patchouli

1. Patchouli can be sown in spring and autumn, suitable for spring sowing in the north and autumn sowing in the south. During this period, seedlings can be raised and transplanted, or seeds can be sowed directly.

2. Spring sowing: sowing seeds from the end of March to the first and middle of April, digging a shallow ditch with a row spacing of 25-30cm, digging a shallow trench with a depth of 1-1.5cm, mixing the seeds with a small amount of fine sand, stirring evenly and sprinkling them into the ditch, then covering a layer of soil and gently compacting, watering according to the soil dryness and wetness, with a seed consumption of 500g to 800g per mu.

3. Autumn sowing: sowing in September-October, the soil is ploughed and raked fine and leveled, and the hole is dug according to the row-plant distance on the border, and the depth of the hole is 3.6cm. When digging large holes, the bottom of the hole should be flat, and the amount of seeds used per mu is 500,600g.

2. Planting methods of patchouli

1. Sowing method

Patchouli can be sowed or sowed, with an average seed consumption of 500-800 grams per mu, and then covered with film on the border for heat preservation and moisturizing.

2. Replenish seedlings with inter-seedlings

After sowing, the local average temperature is kept at 13-18 ℃. When the soil moisture is suitable, seedlings will generally emerge after waiting for 10-12 days. When the seedlings grow to 10-12cm, the weak and diseased seedlings should be removed. Strip sowing can be carried out according to the plant spacing of 10-12cm, and the seedlings can be determined separately by two rows. Hole sowing needs to retain 3-4 strong seedlings per hole.

3. Timely planting

When the seedlings of patchouli grow to 12-15cm and 4-6 true leaves, according to the plant spacing of 25cm and row spacing of 40cm, the seedlings can be planted with thin dung water in cloudy days. 6-7000 seedlings can be planted per mu, and the soil should be soaked thoroughly after planting. If missing plants are found after seedling survival, supplementary seedlings can be selected in cloudy days.

4. Fertilizer and water management

Topdressing can be carried out for the first time when the seedlings grow to 3cm. After ploughing and softening the soil, 1.5-2kg of mature sparse human and animal manure water is applied per mu. In the later stage, topdressing can be carried out when the seedlings grow to 7-10cm, 15-20cm and 25-30cm, respectively. After fertilization, it is necessary to water in time, and no more topdressing after ridge closure.

5. Drainage and drought resistance

Patchouli likes to live in slightly moist soil. After sowing and transplanting, if there is dry and rainless weather, we should pay attention to timely watering. When there is too much water in the soil, we should do a good job in clearing ditches and drainage in time to prevent the root system from rotting.

6. Timely harvest

Tender stems and leaves can be picked from April to June and harvested in full bloom from July to August. After patchouli is cut on the ground on a sunny day, it can be dried in the sun, Kang or shade. The average yield per mu is 4500-7500 kg. The stems and branches with good quality are green, dry, with many leaves and rich aroma.
