Land selection and preparation: Castor has strong adaptability, all kinds of land can be planted, and the soil is turned over 4-6 weeks before sowing to make the soil mature. Planting and retention: pick the earliest mature fruits among the growing plants and keep them in the sun. Fine sowing: generally sowing in the stage from sting to the Beginning of Summer, divided into direct seeding and transplanting. Fertilization method: nitrogen fertilizer was the main fertilizer in the early stage of growth, and potassium fertilizer was the main fertilizer after flowering. The yield of castor: the yield per mu is about 200-250 kg.

I. planting of castor

1. Land selection and preparation

The main results are as follows: (1) Castor has strong adaptability and can be planted in all kinds of land. it can be planted sporadically by the roadside of the ditch, the gap between the front and the back of the house, or by the barren hills and slopes.

(2) when planting in pieces, the soil should be turned 4-6 weeks before sowing to make the soil mature. Sporadic planting also needs to turn the soil ahead of time and dig the ground into holes of 35 cm in depth and 35 cm in width.

(3) because castor is afraid of water stains, if you choose to plant in low-lying areas, the land should be changed into a platform in advance and drains should be opened.

(4) if castor is planted in wasteland, the slope should be changed into a ladder-shaped platform around the mountain, so as to conserve soil and water and prevent soil erosion.

2. Selection and retention of planting

The main results are as follows: (1) the castor plants with exuberant growth, many branches and early fruit were selected before harvest, and then the fruits with the most fruit and the earliest ripening were picked and put into the sun to dry and thresh.

(2) after drying, put it in a basket or bag and store the seeds in a dry and ventilated place.

(3) if conditions permit, growers had better go to scientific research and production units to buy high-quality seeds.

3. Fine sowing

The main results are as follows: (1) Castor is usually sown during the period from sting to the Beginning of Summer, but there are time differences in different regions.

(2) generally, the seeds were sown earlier in some provinces and regions in South China and southwest China, while in East China and North China, they were sown from April to May.

(3) sowing can be carried out in spring, summer and autumn in some areas of southwest China, and in winter in South China. The sowing of castor is divided into two kinds: direct seeding and transplanting.

(4) Direct seeding is 2-3 seeds per litter as far as possible, the distance between seeds is 3-5 cm, and cover with 2-3 cm thick soil after sowing.

(5) transplanting should choose to sow and water in places with leeward and sunny, convenient water sources and fertile soil. When castor seedlings grow out of about 3-4 true leaves, they can be transplanted with mud.

4. Fertilization method

The main results are as follows: (1) nitrogen fertilizer is mainly applied in the early growth stage of castor, and potash fertilizer is mainly applied after flowering.

(2) A large area of castor can be planted by ditching and fertilizing, and plant ash is mixed with fine soil to cover the nest after sowing.

(3) dilute human and animal feces were applied when the seedlings were fixed. If castor is planted in the reclaimed wasteland, soybeans, peanuts and other crops can be planted in the rows of castor after emergence.

Second, the output of castor

The main producing area of castor is the northern part of our country. The yield of castor is generally 200-250 kg per mu. There are also places to produce castor in the south, but the output of castor in the south is less than that in the north.
