Jujube seedlings can be planted in spring or autumn, as long as the average temperature in January is not lower than minus 8 ℃, and sandy soil with flat terrain, good drainage and irrigation and fertile soil should be selected as nursery.

When will jujube seedlings be planted

The planting period of jujube seedlings can be divided into autumn and spring, as long as there is no severe cold in winter and the average temperature in January is not lower than minus 8 ℃. After the fallen leaves of jujube trees are planted before the soil freezes, in the jujube area south of the Yangtze River in China, the winter is relatively warm, the soil is relatively humid, and the wounds of jujube roots can be healed in the same year.

II. Planting methods of jujube

1. Land selection and preparation

Generally speaking, the nursery land should be selected in the sandy soil with relatively flat terrain, good drainage and irrigation conditions and fertile soil, and the nursery land should not be replanted.

After selecting the nursery, apply enough basic fertilizer to turn deeply, and then repair the irrigation and drainage pipes according to the water source trend, which is suitable for low-bed planting in arid areas and high-bed planting in areas with more Rain Water.

2. Seedling selection and planting

The tiller seedlings need to be strictly selected, and the seedlings free from diseases and insect pests such as madness and scale insects should be selected to return to the nursery. The rhizome diameter is 0.4-0.6cm. If the rhizome is too thin or too thick, the emergence rate is relatively low and the growth is not high.

After selecting the tillering seedlings, pruning them, cutting off the parallel branches, branches and overlong roots, each plant retains a new part about the length of 35cm, and the rest can be cut off, and then classified according to the size of the seedlings, and then pseudo-planting.

3. Digging trenches and reasonable close planting

After finishing the soil, a long longitudinal trench can be dug, and the ditch length can be determined according to the specific nursery land. The ditch width is 30cm, the ditch depth is 20cm, and the ditch spacing is 60-70cm. The pseudo-planted tiller seedlings were taken out and planted in the ditch, and the plant spacing was 30cm, about 3000-4000 plants per mu.

Because the jujube tree has secondary branches, the branch angle is relatively large, and then the root tiller seedlings grow relatively fast, so the planting density is not suitable for too large, such as more than 4000 plants, it will lead to poor plant growth, branches and leaves closure, leading to the occurrence of diseases, after planting, need to seal the soil, steady, irrigation.

4. Post-management

After the seedlings are planted, the ground parts can be cut off with 2-3cm off the ground, and a strong bud can be left after the basal buds germinate, and the other buds can be erased, and then according to the conventional methods of seedling cultivation, weeding, fertilization, pest control and so on.

Generally speaking, after returning to the nursery for one year, the seedling can grow to about 1m, and more new roots will grow, so it can be planted out of the nursery.
