Culture method: cinnabar root needs to choose mixed soil to prepare nutrient substrate with loose soil and good permeability, timely watering to keep the basin soil moist, a small amount of watering in winter to prevent frost damage, the suitable growth temperature is about 16-28 ℃, nitrogen fertilizer, phosphate fertilizer, potash fertilizer and appropriate amount of organic fertilizer can be applied in the growth process. Note: keeping ventilation can reduce the incidence of diseases and insect pests, and pruning branches and leaves in time can improve ornamental.

Cinnabar root is a shrub with a height of about 1-2m and a petiole length of about 1cm. Its leaves are oval in shape and have no branches except for lateral special flower branches. Cinnabar root generally grows in shady bushes at an altitude of 90-2400 meters and is grown in areas from southeastern Xizang to Taiwan and from Hubei to Hainan Island.

I. Culture methods of cinnabar root

1. Prepare soil

In order to promote the safe and rapid normal growth of cinnabar root, the cultivated cinnabar root can be mixed with garden soil, pond mud, field soil, humus soil, coarse sand and Ji Kang ash, so that the soil is loose, permeable and colonized.

2. Timely watering

The main results are as follows: (1) cinnabar root is suitable for growing in moist or semi-dry environment, and watering at the right time can not make the basin soil dry for a long time.

(2) when the plant grows rapidly, it must be watered enough, but not too much, so that the basin soil can be kept moist. In winter, the temperature is relatively low and a small amount of water is needed to prevent frost damage.

3. Growth temperature

The main results are as follows: (1) cinnabar root is warm and needs sufficient scattered light in the process of growth. if it is directly exposed to strong light or exposure, it is easy to lead to the malaise of its leaves.

(2) the suitable growth temperature of cinnabar root is about 16-28 ℃. The normal growth of cinnabar root will be affected if the temperature is higher than 32 ℃ or lower than 5 ℃. At the same time, attention should be paid to avoid excessive temperature difference.

4. Rational fertilization

The main results are as follows: (1) cinnabar root can be applied phosphate fertilizer, nitrogen fertilizer, potassium fertilizer and appropriate amount of organic fertilizer in the process of growth, and fertilizer can be applied reasonably according to different growth periods.

(2) cinnabar root is mainly applied nitrogen fertilizer in the growing period, and the amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be reduced and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be increased about 15 days before flowering. If the bud is not open for a long time, potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution can be applied to promote flowering. Note that all fertilizers must be diluted before application.

II. Matters needing attention in cinnabar root culture

1. In order to reduce the occurrence of diseases and insect pests in the process of cultivating cinnabar root, ventilation must be maintained at all times.

2. In order to improve the appreciation of cinnabar root, pruning branches and leaves must be carried out in time.
