1. Set up seedbed

(1) Choose a plot with no disease and sufficient light as a nursery bed, select a plot with flat terrain, leeward sun, good drainage and low groundwater position, and the nursery bed should be east-west. The bed width is about 1.3m, and the length can be determined according to the number of seed potatoes. Then cover it with plastic film.

(2) bed soil to use fertile, loose, germ-free, adapt to the use of sandy loam, bed soil should not be too thick or too thin, usually 5-8cm is appropriate, bed soil can be applied to a small amount of decomposed cow dung, horse manure, to be bed soil after leveling, 100g ammonium sulfate per square meter, conducive to improving the quality and quantity of seedlings.

2. Seed selection

The potato pieces with smooth skin, bright skin color, uniform potato pieces, no disease, no injury, no cold damage and moisture damage, and more white pulp are selected as seed potatoes, and the weight is 3 liang to 1 jin, and 65 jin of potato seeds are needed per mu of land.

3. Soaking seeds

(1) In order to avoid seed potato disease, you can use warm water or chemical soaking, the appropriate water temperature is 51-54℃, and then soaking for about 10 minutes, seed potato just put into warm water to constantly turn up and down, so that seed potato heat evenly.

(2) Select open field seedling seed potato, or have undergone slight freezing damage seed potato, should not be soaked with warm water, generally can choose to use 50% carbendazim, 500 times water solution, or 70% tetrabutyl alcohol, 700 times water solution, soaking for about 10 minutes, you can also spray the seedling bed with these solutions.

4, seeding technology

(1) There are oblique row, flat row and straight row. Oblique row is to arrange seeds with 1/3 of potato head pressing potato tail, while solar seedling is suitable for flat row. This kind of seed potato is evenly distributed and not dense, which is conducive to cultivating healthy seedlings. Straight row should not be used under normal circumstances. When arranging potatoes, it is necessary to distinguish between head and tail, and cannot be placed in reverse.

(2) Generally, the skin color of potato is darker, the juice is more, and the fine roots are less. Because the size of potato pieces is different, it is necessary to classify and select them. The principle of dense arrangement of large potato pieces and thin arrangement of small potato pieces shall be mastered. The soil covered on potato pieces shall be consistent. In this way, the emergence will be more uniform and tidy, which is also convenient for the later seedling bed management.
