Light condition: cotton is suitable to grow under sufficient light condition. Water conditions: the water demand is different in each growth stage, so it is necessary to reasonably grasp the amount of water application. Soil conditions: cotton growth mainly obtains water and nutrients from the soil through the root system, so ensuring sufficient soil nutrients can improve the quality and yield of cotton. Heat condition: the suitable growth temperature in seedling stage is about 20 ℃, and the heat condition will affect the emergence time of cotton.

I. Lighting conditions

Cotton is a light-loving crop, which is suitable to grow under sufficient light conditions. the light saturation point and light compensation point of single leaf of cotton are very high. The light saturation point and light compensation point of cotton leaf are 70000-80000 lux and 1000 lux, respectively. Usually, the adaptive range of cotton leaves to light intensity is 8000-70000 lux.

2. Water condition

The water requirement of cotton will also be different in different growth stages. according to the data statistics, during the whole growth process of cotton, about 1 / 3 of the water is consumed by soil evaporation and 2 / 3 is consumed by transpiration.

1. From sowing to seedling emergence, 0-20cm soil water content mainly accounts for 70-80% of the field capacity.

2. 0-40cm soil water content in seedling stage is suitable for 60-70% of field capacity.

3. 0-60cm soil water content at budding stage is suitable for 65-75% of field capacity.

4. 0-80cm soil water content in full bud stage, which mainly accounts for 70-80% of field capacity, should not be less than 60-65%.

5. The soil water content in the opening stage needs to be kept at 55-70%.

III. Soil conditions

To ensure the healthy growth of cotton, sufficient water and nutrients are needed, which are mainly obtained from the soil through the root system, and the required temperature and air also come from the soil. Soil temperature, air, water, nutrients, saline-alkali content, texture and so on will affect the quality and yield of cotton.

IV. Thermal conditions

The main results are as follows: (1) in the early and later stages of cotton growth, it is particularly sensitive to heat conditions. It usually takes 7-20 days from sowing to emergence, during which the active accumulated temperature is 160-320 ℃. When the temperature is stable above 20 ℃ after sowing, the seedlings can emerge after 7-8 days.

(2) if the temperature is unstable after sowing, maintaining an average of 15-17 ℃, it generally takes 20 days to emerge. The lower the average temperature every day, the more accumulated temperature is needed from sowing to emergence. In the process from flowering to boll opening, heat conditions will not only affect the quality of cotton, but also lead to a decline in cotton production.
