Planting time: Beibei green pumpkin is usually planted before the Spring Festival or in July in autumn. Sowing: after drying and soaking the selected seeds, take them out and wrap them with gauze, wait for them to sprout before sowing. Soil preparation and fertilization: first ploughing the soil, and then applying farm manure and compound fertilizer. Planting: the seedlings can be planted with hanging vines for about 22 days. Topdressing: compound fertilizer and urea can be applied. Pollination: artificial pollination is required when male and female flowers bloom.

Beibei pumpkin is a variety bred by hybrids, which is different from ordinary pumpkins and is relatively small. It generally matures and goes on the market from April to December every year. Beibei pumpkin is rich in selenium, has a certain antioxidant effect, can enhance human immunity, it also contains a lot of vitamin C, carotene, vitamin An and so on.

Small pumpkins are divided into Beibei Green Pumpkin, Mini White Pumpkin, Mini Flower Pumpkin, Mini Orange Red Pumpkin, Mini Cream Pumpkin, etc., they are similar in size, but are different in shape and color, so it is easy to distinguish them. Next, the planting method of Beibei green pumpkin is introduced.

First, planting time

1. Beibei green pumpkins are generally planted in spring and autumn. Spring planting time is usually before the Spring Festival, about December-January, and some areas start planting in November. Beibei green pumpkins planted during this time period will probably be ripe and on the market around April.

2. The autumn planting time of Beibei green pumpkin is about July, can be planted around August, and can be picked and listed until November.

Second, sowing seeds

1. Put the Beibei green pumpkin seeds bought on the market in the sun, soak the seeds in warm water of about 60 ℃, then fish them out and wrap them in moist gauze, wait for their buds to grow to about 0.5-1cm, and then sow.

2. Prepare the nutrition bowl before sowing, then load the substrate, pour through the water, put the seeds flat, sprout up, and then spray them when the seedlings grow 3-4 leaves. In order to enhance the resistance of the seedlings, squatting seedlings can be carried out first, which is beneficial to improve the survival rate of transplanting.

III. Soil preparation and fertilization

After about 30 days of seedling planting, the soil can be deeply ploughed and fertilized, and about 3000 jin of farm manure can be applied per mu, together with about 200 jin of compound fertilizer, so that the soil is easier to be loose and more conducive to the rapid growth of roots.

IV. Colonization

After 22 days of seedling planting, hanging vines can be used for three-dimensional planting, the plant is about 30-35cm, and about 800-1000 plants can be planted per mu.

V. rational fertilization

The main results are as follows: 1. The method of fertilization in the greenhouse in spring: the base fertilizer can be applied with about 400 jin of organic fertilizer per mu, with about 60 jin of compound fertilizer, and topdressing can be applied with about 20 jin of compound fertilizer per mu.

2. Fertilization methods for planting in greenhouse in autumn: about 400 jin of organic fertilizer, 70 jin of compound fertilizer and 20 jin of compound fertilizer can be applied to base fertilizer and topdressing fertilizer per mu.

3. The method of fertilization in open field: on the basis of fertilization in greenhouse in autumn, it is necessary to apply 10 jin urea.

VI. Pollination

About 10 days after the seedlings are planted, the male and female flowers will gradually bloom, and then artificial pollination is needed, usually at 8-9 o'clock in the morning. The male flowers blooming on the same day are selected to remove the Corolla, and then the pollen is smeared on the stigma of the female flowers. About 10-12 melons can be retained per plant.
