Planting time: cantaloupe is usually planted around April 20, and the underground soil temperature is stable at about 14 ℃. Planting method: it is not suitable for continuous cropping, and leguminous, Solanaceae and Cucurbitaceae crops can not be planted around the planting land, first deep ploughing the soil, then applying appropriate amount of compound fertilizer and mature organic fertilizer per mu, mixing and leveling, planting according to the plant distance of about 50cm, the height of the arch shed is about 100cm, check seedlings and replant in time, and do a good job of ploughing and weeding in the seedling stage.

First, planting time

Hami melon is generally planted after late frost, and the soil surface 10cm is deep and stable at about 14 ℃. The plot covered with plastic film can be planted around April 20, and the sowing date can be postponed appropriately, and the planting of cantaloupe ready for storage can be postponed to about May 20.

II. Land selection and preparation

Hami melon is not suitable for continuous cropping, but can choose to rotate with other crops for more than five years, and legume, eggplant and cucurbitaceae crops should not be planted around the planting land. Sandy loam soil with loose, fertile and rich organic matter is required. Before planting, it is necessary to carry out summer tillage and autumn ploughing, deep ploughing soil 25-30cm, and winter irrigation is conducive to alkali pressure and ripening soil, but also can eliminate weeds and overwintering pests in the soil.

Fertilizing and irrigating

After ploughing the soil, apply an appropriate amount of compound fertilizer and 2000-3000kg mature organic fertilizer per mu, mix the soil well after fertilization, rake and level the soil, dig the drainage ditch, irrigate the plot 7 days before sowing, which is beneficial to ensure the whole seedling, and then wet the soil thoroughly and cover the plastic film.

4. Seed soaking and disinfection

After carefully selecting the seeds, soak the seeds in 200x formalin solution for about 2 hours, and then rinse them with clean water for 2-3 times. if it is in an area with high incidence of virus disease, you can first soak the seeds with chemicals and treat them at 40 ℃ dry heat and constant temperature for about 24 hours, then accelerate germination and sow seeds.

5. Sowing methods

Seeds need to be sowed at the right time, and can be sowed when the underground soil temperature is about 14 ℃. Hole sowing can be selected. The plant row spacing of each hole should be determined according to the variety. Generally, the suitable plant spacing is 45-60cm, and the sowing depth is also determined according to the condition of the soil. The soil is sandy and can be sowed deeply, while the soil layer is thick and sticky, and shallow sowing can be carried out. Generally, 2-3 seeds are put in each hole. It is suitable to cover soil with 3-4cm.

VI. Buckle the shed

The frame material of the buckle shed can choose bamboo pole, bamboo piece, cold-drawn wire, but generally choose bamboo piece, the height of the arch shed is about 100cm, in order to facilitate later management, then insert the two ends of the bamboo piece into the ground, then tie up each arch frame with hemp rope, and finally cover it with plastic film, and then compact it with soil clods to avoid being damaged by strong winds.

VII. Field management

Generally, the seedlings will emerge after sowing for 3-5 days. At this time, the plastic film can be pierced, and the work of checking and replanting can be done. When the seedlings grow to 1-2 true leaves, they can start to interseedling, 2 strong seedlings should be retained in each hole, weak seedlings and diseased seedlings should be removed, when the seedlings grow to 4-5 true leaves, seedlings need to be fixed, and 1 strong seedling should be retained in each hole. In the seedling stage, intermediate ploughing and weeding should be carried out, which can loosen the soil. Enhance soil permeability, promote root growth and development, weeding can prevent weeds from competing for seedling nutrition, which is conducive to the healthy growth of seedlings.
