Planting conditions: loose sandy loam soil should be selected, sufficient base fertilizer should be applied, light should not be too strong, undergrowth, shrub or shady place on hillside should be selected, watering frequency should be once every 3-5 days, drainage should be paid attention to in rainy season. Planting method: sowing method is carried out in March, shallow ditch is opened, seeds are evenly scattered into the ditch, thin soil is covered with water, and then grass is covered; rhizome propagation is to select adult rhizomes, cut young parts into several pieces, plant after the wound is dried, and irrigate water after planting.

I. Cultivation conditions

1. Soil: Polygonatum is suitable for growing in a humid and shaded environment. When artificial planting, it should be planted in sandy loam or loam with good water retention and loose soil.

2, light: like shade, need to choose under the forest, shrub or hillside shade, not strong light for a long time direct.

3, watering: need to keep the soil moist, but can not accumulate water, sunny every 3-5 days to irrigate water, continuous rainy days to pay attention to drainage.

4. Fertilization: Apply enough base fertilizer before planting, about 2000 kg per mu of planting land, 3-4 times of topdressing during the growth period, 1500 kg of soil fertilizer, 50 kg of calcium superphosphate and 50 kg of cake fertilizer can be evenly mixed and applied into the row ditch, and then cover the soil after application.

II. Cultivation methods

After selecting the planting land, the soil should be deeply ploughed to loosen the soil, which is more conducive to the normal growth of Polygonatum sibiricum. After the land is straightened, the base fertilizer can be applied, mainly organic fertilizer or farm manure. The amount of fertilizer applied per mu can reach about 2000 kg. Pay attention to preventing fertilizer from damaging seedlings. Fertilizer without decomposition should not be applied. In addition, in order to reduce the incidence of diseases and insect pests, the soil can be sterilized and disinfected.

Polygonatum can be used to seed and rhizome reproduction, the more common way is seed reproduction.

1. Seed reproduction

In August, the harvested seeds are stored in sand, and can be sown in March of the next spring. First, shallow furrows are opened on the ridge surface with a row spacing of about 15cm. Then, seeds are sown evenly into the furrows by means of sowing. A layer of thin soil is covered. After sowing, water is poured thoroughly to cover the grass. After about one year of cultivation, the seeds can be transplanted and planted. The breeding cycle of seeds is long, and they are generally used to cultivate seedlings.

2. Rhizomatous propagation

First, select the rhizome of Polygonatum sibiricum, cut its tender parts into several pieces, wait for its wound to dry before planting, similar to the way of sowing, during which the soil can be kept moist.

III. Cultivation and weeding

1. Weeding can be started after the seedlings are unearthed. Weeding is generally required 3-4 times a year to prevent nutrient loss and ensure the normal growth of seedlings.

2, seedlings grow to a certain stage, should be properly cultivated, so that the soil loose, will not harden, which is conducive to promoting the growth of the root system, especially in rainy season, the soil is easy to harden, thus affecting the root respiration, after the seedling stage, in order to avoid root bare, should be cultivated together, so as to avoid lodging phenomenon.

IV. Post-management

1. Watering: After transplanting, in order to keep the soil moist, water should be poured once a week. If the sun is strong, it should be shielded in time to avoid affecting the normal growth of plants.

2, fertilization: plant fertilization can be combined with weeding together, after the first weeding should be applied in time fertilizer, after every 1-2 months fertilizer, in fertilization, in order to avoid burning roots, must control the concentration and dosage.

3. Prevention and control of pests and diseases: Generally, Polygonatum sibiricum is prone to underground pests in the seedling stage, which will bite off the roots of seedlings, resulting in death and greater harm. Therefore, if diseases occur, they must be prevented and controlled in time.
