The fresh garlic with good variety and large cloves was selected as the seed, peeled and divided before sowing, dried and sterilized in the sun, and the hydroponic container with filter layer was selected for hydroponic culture, in which a small amount of nutrient solution could be put into the container. when garlic grows to 5-6 leaves, it is easy to survive the winter, and it is necessary to give more hydroponic garlic to bask in the sun and replenish the nutrient solution in time.

I. selection of varieties

Choose red garlic or white garlic with strong stress resistance, strong growth, strong cold resistance, high bolting rate, storage resistance, good quality, good yield performance and large market demand, which is suitable for hydroponic culture.

2. Seed treatment

Select fresh garlic with large, uniform, neat and brightly colored cloves as seed. Generally, 100 grains are required to weigh more than 400 grams. 1-3 days before sowing, the garlic is peeled and divided, the stem plates and trays of the garlic are removed, and then graded according to the size of the seeds, which is beneficial to the neat emergence of seedlings after hydroponic culture. Garlic should be evenly spread one day before hydroponic culture and placed in the sun to dry, which can effectively kill bacteria. And it is conducive to rooting and sprouting.

3. Select hydroponic containers

Because the garlic is relatively small, it is necessary to choose a hydroponic container with a filter layer to avoid all garlic immersed in water resulting in a low survival rate. in addition, the water used for hydroponic garlic is nutrient solution, which is not ordinary water. the nutrient solution contains all kinds of nutrients needed for garlic growth and can be recycled instead of soil.

Fourth, sow seeds at the right time

The main results are as follows: 1. it can be sown when garlic grows to 5-6 leaves before overwintering, at this time, the plant has strong cold resistance, which is beneficial to not being frozen to death in winter, and lays a good foundation for garlic to pass vernalization smoothly.

2. If sowing too early will lead to low seedling emergence rate and easy emergence of compound garlic, overgrowth of seedlings before winter will consume nutrients and reduce overwintering ability, and vernalization may be carried out again, resulting in a decline in garlic quality and yield. if sowing too late, it will lead to short growth time before overwintering, weak seedling growth before overwintering, less accumulation of nutrients and lower cold resistance, resulting in high mortality during the overwintering period. Thus affecting the quality and yield of garlic.

V. late-stage management

Generally, seedlings will emerge after sowing for 7 days. After emergence, you only need to give more hydroponic garlic to bask in the sun and replenish the nutrient solution regularly.

VI. points for attention

The suitable growth temperature of garlic is between 10-25 ℃. During breeding, the nutrient solution needs to be changed regularly, which can be maintained in a place with sufficient light to promote the garlic leaves to grow greener and taste more delicious. Generally, they can be picked after growing to about 30 days. When picking, only the garlic leaves need to be cut off, so that the continued growth of garlic will not be affected. During this period, there will be shrunken and rotten garlic cloves. It should be dealt with in a timely manner.
