First, choose to plant

Jackfruit is suitable to grow in a warm environment, and the growth temperature should not be lower than 21 ℃. Jackfruit should be planted in flat land or hills below 600m above sea level. It has low requirements for soil and is suitable for planting in slightly alkaline or acidic soil with fertile, good drainage and deep soil layer.

Second, planting time

1. Jackfruit can be planted all the year round, usually from March to April in spring and from September to November in autumn.

III. Rational fertilization

Jackfruit needs a lot of water during flowering and fruit development, so he must replenish water in time, and water properly in other growing periods. In addition, in rainy seasons, drainage must be carried out in time to prevent stagnant water at the roots, resulting in rotting of the roots of the plant, thus affecting its normal growth.

5. Shaping and pruning

When jackfruit's main trunk grows to 1m, in order to prevent nutrients from being consumed, all the dwarf branches, stacked branches, dense branches, cross branches and other branches can be cut off, which is generally better pruned in winter, and 3-4 branches can be retained when pruning. This is conducive to the formation of a good tree structure.

VI. Fruit thinning and fruit protection

1. During the fruiting period, in order to ensure the normal growth of good fruits, jackfruit should remove all the deformed fruits, dense fruits and other inferior fruits in March-April every year, and when thinning fruit, it is appropriate to keep 3-5 fruits per square meter in the crown.

2. In order to prevent diseases and insect pests and promote fruit expansion, foliar fertilizer, insecticides and fungicides can be sprayed evenly in the young fruit stage, about once every half a month, and during the fruit setting period, fungicides and insecticides can be selected and sprayed every other month.

VII. Prevention and control of diseases and insect pests

Jackfruit's main diseases and insect pests are beetles, longicorn beetles, soft rot, leaf spot, and so on, so we must do a good job of prevention in advance. If pests are found, chlorpyrifos can be smeared on the trunk or killed directly. 1500 times chlorothalonil or 1000 times carbendazim can be used for disease control.

Jackfruit is usually from September to October, and the fruit is basically ripe and can be harvested in time according to the specific region and climate.
