Planting time of spring carrots

Spring carrots are generally sown from the end of February to early March, ditches are opened after soil preparation, appropriate amount of water is watered along the ditch bottom, and then ridges are made for machine sowing or manual sowing, which can be covered with fine soil after sowing, and spring carrots can be harvested about 100 days after sowing.

First, planting time

Generally, spring sowing is relatively early, probably from the end of February to early March. Carrots like cool climate and are suitable for growing at a temperature of 15-25 ℃.

2. Soil preparation and sowing

1. Carrots are trenched before planting, and the depth of the ditch is about 3-4cm, then appropriate amount of water is watered along the bottom of the ditch. After the water is completely permeated, ridges can be made for machine sowing or manual sowing, and after sowing, a layer of fine soil can be covered.

2. After planting, in order to prevent and control weeds in the seedling stage, 60 ml of oxazone herbicide can be sprayed on the ridge surface per mu, about 30 kg of water can be sprayed, and the film can be covered on the ridge surface after spraying herbicide for about 2 days. Close all the vents and keep the temperature in the shed at about 25 ℃, which is conducive to promoting the early emergence of carrots.

Third, intermediate seedlings and fixed seedlings

1. In order to prevent the seedlings from overgrowing, copy the seedlings, and so on, remove the plastic film in the morning when there is no wind.

2. Interseedling is generally needed for 2 times at seedling stage, and seedlings can be started when 2-3 true leaves are grown, weak seedlings, overdense seedlings and inferior seedlings are all removed, and the plant spacing is kept at about 3cm. When seedlings grow 4-5 true leaves, seedlings can be retained for the second time, and the planting quantity is about 2.2-27000 plants per mu.

Fourth, cultivate the soil by ploughing.

Cultivate the soil according to the planting mode of carrots, and after ridging planting to remove the plastic film, the carrots can be properly ploughed to preserve soil moisture during the growing period. in order to improve the economic value of carrot fleshy roots, the soil can be cultivated to the shoulder of carrot roots to prevent abnormal color of carrots.

5. Heat preservation

1. Carrots are planted in early spring and the temperature is relatively low. in order to increase the temperature in the early growth stage, the film can be uncovered at night according to the humidity in the shed and covered in the morning to allow ventilation at both ends of the film. Then, in order to prolong the lighting time, the film can be uncovered slowly in the morning and covered at night.

2. After April, the temperature is stable, and ventilation should be maintained at any time to keep the temperature in the shed at about 25 ℃ during the day and 10-15 ℃ at night, not less than 10 ℃.

VI. Water and fertilizer management

1. Carrots do not need to be watered too much in the seedling stage. in general, after fixing the seedlings of carrots in the greenhouse, in order to squat seedlings and promote root growth, they can be watered properly until the seedlings grow 5-6 true leaves, and when the plants enter the rapid growth period, in order to prevent the excessive growth of leaves, the amount of water should be controlled and watered once every 20 days.

2. When the plant enters the fleshy root expansion period, sufficient water and fertilizer should be applied to keep the ground dry and wet. About 15-20 kg of three-element compound fertilizer can be applied per mu, combined with watering.

VII. Timely harvest

Generally, carrots can be harvested about 100 days after sowing according to their specific growth and market demand, and will probably be harvested in late May or early June.
