Planting time: mid-late January in spring and mid-late July in autumn. Sowing and raising seedlings: soaking seeds to promote sprouting before sowing, spring sowing can build a small arch shed to keep warm and raise seedlings, autumn sowing can set up sunshade net to cool down and raise seedlings. Soil preparation and fertilization: after soil preparation, sufficient base fertilizer is applied to make beds, which can be planted by bag culture or trough cultivation. Rational planting: two rows per row, plant spacing of 40-50cm. Field management: timely heart extraction, artificial pollination at flowering stage, timely pre-treatment of diseases and insect pests.

First, planting time

Heshou gourd can be sown in mid-late January in spring and mid-late July in autumn, and generally need to be planted on a shelf or wall, because it is a side vine bearing melon, and the melon and fruit is relatively large and heavy, so it is generally recommended to plant in greenhouse or greenhouse, which is beneficial to improve the color and shape of melon and fruit, promote early ripening and increase yield.

2. Sowing and raising seedlings

1. The seed coat of Heshou gourd is relatively thick and is not easily absorbed, so the seeds should be soaked in warm water of 30 ℃ for about 7-8 hours before sowing, so that the seeds can absorb enough water to accelerate germination.

2. if the sowing temperature is relatively low in spring, it should be kept warm in time, a small arch shed can be built on the seedling bed, and the electric hot line should be heated at the same time, the cooling work in the seedling stage should be done well in autumn, and the sunshade net can be built to raise seedlings. The seedlings will emerge about a month after sowing, and the seedlings can be fixed when they grow 2 leaves. In order to prevent the seedlings from overgrowing, the moisture and temperature should be well controlled in the seedling stage.

III. Soil preparation and fertilization

1. First, carry out deep ploughing and fine rake on the planting land, and then apply sufficient base fertilizer, mainly organic fertilizer, about 2000 kg per mu, about 20 kg of calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer and 20 kg of compound fertilizer, so that it can be evenly mixed with the soil and make the border. The furrow is about 1.5m long, 30 cm high and 40-50cm wide.

2. If conditions permit, you can use bag culture or trough culture, you can buy a special foam trough or build a simple planting trough with red brick, with a thickness of about 20cm and a width of about 75cm. In order to separate the soil in the tank from the substrate, you can cover a layer of film at the bottom of the tank.

3. production matrix: the raw materials such as perlite, peat, coal porcelain, bagasse, sawdust and guest soil are mixed into the matrix according to a certain proportion, such as 8 parts of guest soil, 2 parts of rotten pig manure, 6 parts of bagasse, 4 parts of coal cinder and so on.

IV. Rational planting

It can be planted when the seedlings grow 4-6 true leaves, two rows can be planted in each row, and the plant spacing is about 40-50cm. After planting, the Li irrigation belt should be laid, and then appropriate watering can be done.

V. Field management

1. When the main vine of the plant grows to 50cm or so, you can start to pick the heart, and only the first or second side branches can be retained, which is beneficial to promote the growth of the vine. When the vine grows to 25cm, the heart is picked again, which helps to promote the fruit of the vine, and there is no need to manage it after the vine is removed.

2. The growth of Heshou gourd is relatively fast, the growth should be properly controlled in the early stage, artificial pollination can be carried out at the flowering stage, which is beneficial to improve the fruit setting rate, and topdressing should be applied in time in the fruiting period.

3. Heshou gourd has relatively few diseases and insect pests, mainly powdery mildew and mites. 72% carbamate EC can be used to control mites to control powdery mildew. 50% sulfur gel suspension can be used 150 times, sprayed every 10 days and used 3 times in a row.
